I am new to trading and I can honestly say that 95 percent of my pins are my "collection". So other than going on vacation this August 10-13 to WDW!!! SO EXCITED! my pins will be in a pin bag for nobody to see.

So I have read through the threads here and have come to this conclusion.

I will be buying a large corkboard and will be displaying my pins that I want in my collection.

My question is. Do you literally just press the pin post into the cork board and walk away? Are there any other fastening steps to be taken? I do not want to have them fall off and I do not want to have to keep going to the board and checking them ( I get a little bit too obsessed about some things at times! lol).

I do think I will be getting frames for the PODM similar to a recent post I was reading. I will be taking this project on after we get back from vacation on August 20th!

Any other advice or how to would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

Just stick em in. They will stay. Try to find a board that is on the thicker side. Cheap thin stuff kinda dries out and the pins may come out if the board is knocked over. If it's hanging on a wall and secured I don't think you will have any falling off.

Also, if you're going to WDW, I wouldn't take your keepers if you don't even plan on trading/showing them. It's just an extra weight to carry you don't even need to. Only take traders or pins you'd be willing to trade if you find something you really really want.

There are a few threads on here about different types of boards to use, if you do a little searching. I made one out of foam board (which is paper-covered foam) covered in fabric, which is okay but a little stiff to push pins through. Coroplast (corrugated plastic) is AWESOME, I made my next board of that covered in fabric. It's a little easier to push in than foam board but it holds 'em quite snugly and doesn't dry out or fall apart like cork can with age.

I also got one of those perforated metal bulletin boards for my miscellaneous traders; they're made to use either magnets or pushpins. They have some kind of self-healing material under the holes; the pins go in *great*. Only trouble is once in a while a two-post pin isn't oriented right for it, or a one-post pin has too thick of a post.

FYI, some people have told of having the pin post break off in the cork (Tinker comes to mind) so you might want to think about something softer?
