Hi All,

So I managed to get my hands on this earlier today...

Pin 16948: Treasure Planet Animators Pin

Apparantly from talking to a few cast members in the parks they said it's really rare and looking at the description from Pinpics I can kinda see why.

Anyone have a ballpark figure of what it's worth or what I should look to trade for it?

Thanks,
James

sounds real cool. i wonder who put it on pinpic. Any one can add pins and write anything they want. So its best to know ppl that have the pin or can teel u if any said storys are true.

no matter what. congrats. Nice pin good job. oh by the way were did u get the pin. If pinpics is right a Cm must have not wanted it and have traded it to sumone sum were?? i guess..

It is a rare pin, one I've been looking for myself and only ever found twice, both times on Ebay. The first one sold for $65, the second was $80, I think. Keep in mind that Treasure Planet is considered a sort of obscure film and there's a minority of collectors that collect its memorabilia. Prices are generally relatively high for one pin of that size and popularity, but value is something different altogether. This particular pin was given only to the animators of the film and only 250 were made. For me, I'd consider it highly valuable.

Agree with above. It it were a more popular movie I'd say it could be $150+. If it were Tangled or Up and only given to animators consider it worth it's weight in gold and $400+. But Treasure Planet is kind of a niche market. With the big 10yr anniversary it is talked about more lately so if you were thinking of selling one, now may be the time to try. But I agree, probably under $100 unless you have 2 completionists fighting over it.

Nice find!!!

I actually have 2 of this pin, one I traded the Brave Bear pin from the Pixar store for it, the other I bought for around $30. So thats a big difference in value right there

I think because it is Treasure Planet, it will be worth a lot to those of us who want it (me and LadyArmonua and like 2 other people I'm guessing haha) but probably not to many other people.

I also think the dangle pin that kind of looks like it (17651) is rarer, I've only seen one of those ever in over 10 years of searching for Treasure Planet pins and that is the one I own :)

I'd agree with the above. Please let me know if you're looking to trade it! I absolutely love Treasure Planet and collect the pins. I'd love to own this!!!

If you want to trade it.. maybe consider putting it for auction and linking your pinpics account.. see what you can get?
