Skylanders Giants! (Flashwing is now available at Target!)

I wanted to make a thread so maybe if there was anyone out there who was looking for toys we could help each other! If anyone can't find one or needs help we could help each other. I live in a place where there's 4 gamestops, a toysrus, 3 walmarts and 4 targets within about 5-15 minutes drive. So if they sell out or something and you can't find the one you want maybe I can help!

With the new giants figures there's super special ones called light core where the figures light up and blink, new versions of old characters (some are backwards compatible), and a bunch of new characters!

So far there's a few limited edition packs announced:

Golden Dragon Canon set from gamestop (presumed sold out), Fully glow in the dark Cynder and magic portal starter set from walmart, bronze and gold light glow giant at target, and 3 pack legendaries from toys r us.

I think this is a good idea! So far, my son is only looking for Crusher, and he seems to be pretty easy to find right now. I have my in-laws getting him though so I'm hoping they will grab him soon before he starts to get scarce. I didn't know about the glow in the dark and light up characters though, and I'm pretty sure my son didn't either. Do you know the names of any of these "light core" characters that you mentioned? Maybe I'll start looking for those...

I can help out, too in finding things for people. There are a ton of Gamestops around me, plus 3 Walmarts within a 10 minutes drive, 2 Targets and a Kmart.

I have an extra Granite Crusher (special edition Crusher from Target). My local Target is sold out ... not sure what availability is like in other places.

I got the LAST Granite Crusher Target Blue and Black tonight from our local Target.

@Hidden Mickeys: The Target one is badass xD It's black and dark blue! If you want one of those I'd look now. As far as I know, if you have one of the limited ones (except for glow in the dark ones, they're the same special edition color in game too!)

As for the light core ones...I know some light up alot and some don't but they RESPOND to stuff in game and in the toy on the portal. Like they get damaged in game and they blink and stuff IRL.

Lemme see if I can get them for you...

Oh and sense I don't have the Giants game yet I JUST found out the Lightcore characters have a special ability in game too that the regulars don't have...that's pretty neat...

I have Prism Break here, (I bought him because I think he's the best one for the light core example...all his crystals light up), Then there's Drobot, and Eruptor, and hex, but as far as I know only Series 2 Hex is out, and Light core isn't out yet. Of the New characters the light cores are:

  Also I am on the hunt for Flashwing, Hotdog and The black griffon with the baby....cause i for got its name xD I can't find them anywhere!!!!

I found flashwing tonight! they only had one though! xD

I was out of town house hunting last week so I didn't get to get tabs on what was happening here, but I did get to see the Prism guy while we were gone. He is soooo cool!! Haven't seen the Flashwing guy yet though. I did get my son a Crusher too so it was a pretty good Skylanders week. Still need to get him the game but I'm waiting for payday this week so I'll have either bought and in my hands or ordered by Friday. Whew! I think I'll go look up some of these other guys you mentioned so I can see what they look like

Flashwing is beautiful! I wish she was a light core, she's made of a light purple and light blue crystal colored plastic that's painted. Would you like some pictures o mine? If you can't find her my target (I went again today for some groceries) has a few left today.


OH if you want a supre limited one, they're donig whirlwind (the black griffon, the new one has her baby on the toy too!) but this special one is gonig to be a wal-mart black friday only exclusive and it's fully glow in the dark! (Don't tell anyone lol!)


I don't have the new game either...I was waiting until the first of the year because they're will be about a 20$ price drop lol..

Naturally they always do. I follow game trends (I got to school for video games LOL) and from what it looks like right now is they over stocked the Giants games. So they'll dwindle up to possibly none by the first of the year and be fully restocked in january, but since everyone got it in December they'll do a 20$ drop. We got ours that way last year.


BUT. If oyu're looking for an amazing deal tyhat's ALMOST the same as a 20$ off if you got to Toy'r'us right now and buy any starter kit for full price you get ANY of the 3-4 Skylanders figures packs for free (Unless it's I think the lengendaries, then its an added 6.50$) But that means you get Game + Portal + 1 Giant + 5 characters (Unless you get a map pack then you get a total of 6 toys, but 1 is the map, 3 characters and 2 power up toys!)

I think you can do it with portal owners bundle too but they you miss out on the really nice cynder and gryffin figues. But you get all of it for the regular price which is kinda saving the 20 if you were gonna buy a extra set anyways lol.

Oh but yeah. Just remember waiting and being paitent with big gamea is you best friend. My boyfriend and I waited for skyrim's LE edition so we waited and watched it go from 150$ to 100$ to 60$ mwahahahahahahaha

8PM Thanksgiving day Walmart will have glow in the dark whirlwind and the 3 skylanders starter kit for 38$
