Okay, but his thing says under how many "more than ten". How is he going to get that many??

Most of the time when they list that many for presale they are cast members. But it can be done by anyone they go from store to store. I know I will be going for this pin and I do not collect Little Mermaid but I want a few to trade.

Cast members have restrictions on resale; IE- They are not allowed too from what i understand. The person is likely from WDW not DLR, it won't be so nuts there and they get more pins than DLR does. I am half tempted to buy one just so I don't have to drag my 2 kids to DLR at dawn.

This is too FUNNY! Thank you for the heads up. My favorite part of their pre-sale is that unless you buy insurance, they can not be held responsible for it. That's a red flag for sure.

Cast members are not suppose to sell but do it all the time. They sell on ebay and there a few that sell on here. I personally know of one that is a cast member and offered to buy the Tangles PODM in the sale forum for an extra fee. Just because they are cast members they do not always follow the rules. They get a 30-40% discount depending on how many years they have worked there and then resell them.

Pre-selling the PODM's is becoming more and more common. 5 people were pre selling the Tangled pins. I wonder if they got enough to cover the sold items? The resale price on this item is reasonable, only 10 over park price, which basically covers the persons time and effort.

The insurance thing is pretty standard for pin sales. Usually the insurance is to cover high $ items, like for instance the PODM Tangled that recently sold for $403. The insurance won't change weather or not you get the pin from the seller. If he doesnt get enough and never ships it, Ebay takes care of those situations when the seller does not refund you. Insurance is to cover damage or loss in the mail.

red flags to me:
#1: quantity.
#2: He/she doesnt specify what happens if he/she does not get enough to cover the orders.
#3: the way it is worded regarding insurance implies to me they expect damage, or shipping problems.

Someone on this Forum got 21 Tangled pins, so I reckon this eBay seller should be fine getting more than 10, as other people have managed it.

While it's not an ideal situation.. we do the same thing on here, don't we? I can't complain, I love that people able to visit the parks are willing to help those of us who wouldn't be able to. While I don't get to go to the parks and hold up each one and decide which one I like best, I get some great scenes via Crystal and I don't have to pay the crazy prices the pins are going for now on the bay.
For Tangled, I pre-ordered 2 via the bay. wouldn't normally have, but I knew it was going to have been madness. So between the 3 I ended up paying for, I paid less then one of those scenes is going on the bay. *shrug* its not a perfect system, and it wasn't cheap. But I can't really blame people or find fault with them for pre-selling. Unless they start charging $75+, then they can go eat a chicken.
