I don't know of another hobby that attracts genuinely good people like pin trading does. I think that, generally, the type of person that falls in love with Disney is usually someone who is more of a glass is half full/ there's magic out there / Never want to grow up type person, and then when you allow them to socialize and interact you get (generally) a ridiculously awesome group of people.

I was trying to explain to my dad (who came with my mom to visit my family this weekend) why exactly I love pin trading, and I really think it has a lot to do with the interactions that I have had with other pin traders. When I was trading at the parks two months ago, I didn't much to offer, but other traders were really trying their hardest to work out trades with me, even for pins they didn't really want, just so I could have a good experience. Plain awesomeness.

So after explaining this to my dad, I got a package in the mail from a DPF member with a pin we had traded for (which was far too heavy in my favor to begin with) and a ZAP of another awesome pin as well. I'm glad my dad was there when I opened it so he could see exactly what I had been talking about.

So basically, this is my open letter to all awesome pin traders that I think you're awesome. Thanks!
 
Agreed. I'm happy I started pin trading; although I was a little scared at first. Of course though... I have yet to experience trading at one of the parks.
 
Pin Trading is the BEST!!!and its sounds as though you are as well.."ITS not about the shiney pieces you recieve ,its about the friendships you create as well"

Totally agree, I met someone at the park for the very first time. My friends brother, he is a retired CM and would not let me buy our tickets. After getting us in the park for free, he gave my daughters and I several pins. This sparked our curiosity and made us go see what they were about. Now we are hooked on pins!
 
I agree that this is such a wonderful way to meet nice people and share the love that Mr. Disney had in mind when he created such a wonderful place. Keep collecting and tell your dad I'm a dad too and he should be proud of you and your values, especially in todays world!
 
ditto! I cant wait to start meeting some of you in person. I am in WDW having the best time,,,going to DTD in an hour to trade i hope?! I got wayyyyy to many pins at my little warehouse and i got some pins for a few people on here! I also hav had the best time giving out some traders to the kids, and i think that is my favorite. They get soooo excited, especially when i say its not a trade but a gift. I love Disney.
 
I am very excited to be going to Disney to work in may I am really looking forwards to wearing a lanyard and going out on my day off in the hopes of meeting some of you guys! I am very excited and pi. Trading has definitely opened lots of friendly doors for me. Iv never had s many friends in my life and it's a wonderful feeling!
