Toys R Us Going Out of Business.

Another one bites the dust, looks like Toys R us is closing. I recall always wanting to go there as a kid well as KB toys and FAO Schwartz, now all of them will be gone. I guess I'll be on the lookout for great deals during their liquidation...

I miss kbtoys! That's where I got a lot of my Barbies. Now TRU too...it won't be as fun shopping for toys.

Toys R us will be greatly missed, I don't think I could count the amount of times I had been there as a kid.

As a kid Mark? Who are you kidding, I know you were there just the other day dude.

I know "I don't wanna grow up, cuz I'm a Toys R Us Kid."
Alright listen, I may or may not be here right now. Is that really the point though? XD

When my son stopped wanting to go to TRU I remember telling him, "you are no son of mine." [emoji24] Then I'd go by myself. [emoji16]

It's not the same as when I was a kid tho, man they used to just have HUGE aisles, and the best stuffed animal selection...
Honestly as much as I still would cruise through to look for specific things, they were a lot more expensive than Target and Walmart for the same toys. Plus the stuff I'd been reading was saying the business just declined, parents aren't going there to just buy crap, they did most of their business during Christmas of course, and that just isn't enough to keep them afloat the rest of the year anymore.

That's very true. In the 90's they had these glass cases displaying collector barbies and I remember always going just to look at them on display.

Toys R Us was a good place to work was there for 6 yrs loved before they changed things the huge game wall just inside the doors. The one I worked at I helped to build, that included stocking shelves, unloading trucks( yep did that too) helping customers and running a register. They will be missed.

Makes me sad....

Best TRU memories....we had the tradition of taking both our boys to TRU a week or so before Christmas. As a family, we would walk around and look at all the toys. Both boys would point out several items they wanted. After the search, one son would go with me and the other son with my husband. Since they each just pointed to toys they wanted, we let them pick out a gift for their brother. As they got older, we moved on to Target or Game Stop for the shopping night. Now they just shop on their own...sniff, sniff

Well first they will be marked down to regular price. Lol. And I don't know about your toys r us but mine stopped getting new products I'm guessing because the shelves are looking pretty sad with little to no product. It's been like that for 3 weeks now.

We don't have a local one (nearest is an hour away), so I really don't know. Haha.

I loved taking you and your siblings! You would spend hours in there just walking around!
