I got an email from someone through pinpics requesting a trade, but I've only traded through DPF. I'm interested in making the trade, but I have no idea who this person is and if they're reliable or not. What do I do next?

First, look to see if they have any references here: http://www.rnrcollectables.com/referencemain.htm Use their PinPics email address. From there you can see if they have been trading for a long time or are new. That should help you make a decision as to whether you can feel comfortable trading with them. Hope that helps.

Plus ask them questions, who they trade with, how long? How can I check your reference? And send your pins out with Delivery Confirmation, that way you can track your pins. If you have any problems-you have proof you shipped.

Are the pins in question high-value?
Also ask for photos of the pin(s)
If so,and if you decide to make the trade, indeed do get delivery confirmation. But do yourself a favor, film the package when it arrives and open it right then on camera. It sounds weird I know, but I've had empty packages shipped to me before,so now for any high $ items I do this.If the item is indeed inside,I merely delete the recording.
Just a nice simple thing you can do to protect yourself

You can also google search their email address,it can bring up linked ebay accounts and forums they are on,possibly pin forums (which would of course be a great help in seeing if they are reliable)

I checked the person's references, and they had a lot of positives on there, so it put my mind at ease. And I did invite them to join DPF! lol :) Thanks for the pin advice everyone!
