I have this pin and a facebook person wants to know how I "value" it. I tried to find it on Ebay (sales and current) but no one is
listing it as far as I can tell. Does anyone have any more info on it. The trade to wants ratio isn't huge, but it is older.

I find valuing pins so hard, because I know what people are really asking is 'How much would I get for selling it?' and that's...not always consistent or realistic. I suggest if you're going to assign it a dollar value, and one cannot be found for sale or sold at all, that you value it a bit higher than the average pins in the same category. For example other 2004 valentines day pins with Ariel & Eric are selling between $20-$40 - this one appears to be harder to find, it was also sold overseas, and it's LE 1000.

I'd probably value it at $65 - Ariel is popular, it has Eric and Sebastian on it, it celebrates a holiday, it's hard to find, and it's dated. Other people are offering to trade it, but not as many as people who want it.

Though take what I say with a huge grain of salt because I just got thrown back into the chaos of 'valuing' pins, I'm wondering what other things people look at when deciding and if my logic in applying a value is totally skewed.

I don't necessarily play that value game, especially with older pins. I'm more likely to respond with something like "an Aristocats pin of similar rarity and vintage," vs a dollar amount. Also, location would play a factor. So since this is an international release, I would prefer to trade it for another international pin vs a US pin.

I have a huge list of ISOs though so its easy then to point to suggestions of pins I would trade one for one.

But looking at Ebay. The Lilo & Stitch pin in the same series is listed around $30, same for Peter Pan, the Chip and Dale w/ Clarice has 0 bids at $15 or BIN at $45. There is a BatB one on the wrong card for $20.

Also, using the seller tool that looks back 3 years. The Ariel pin sold for $15+$2.07 shipping July 4, 2025

I didn't think it was worth much, but I don't trade that way either. I said something like "I don't know".

I think telling them what pin you would like is a way of assigning your 'value'. I would find a pin you would trade for that you see as equivalent using your criteria and send the trade request. They will then need to decide if they see your pin 'value' as adequate for the pin you want.

Basically, I also will not play the value game. I always feel better post trade when I stick to my guns for what I want in trade. You need to determine how you value a trade and they need to determine how they value the trade.

Do you know what they have on offer for trade? If yes, I would pick something and then send the trade request.
