VINYL Vinylmation Blog Updates [Updated 9/27]
December 2, 2010
Here's a trio of figures from Vinylmationâ„¢ Animation #1:
Thomas Scott created this design of Prince Naveen (of Maldonia) from Disney's The Princess and the Frog.
Monty Maldovan's Peter Pan design includes a sculpted hat on top of the figure, as well as a "cameo" appearance by Tinker Bell on the left ear.
Uh-oh, it looks like Pinocchio has paid a visit to Pleasure Island in this design by Thomas Scott. Pinocchio has donkey ears, as well as an attached tail.
We'll have the final three designs (besides the chaser of course) tomorrow. See you real soon!

Don't forget to pick up your Vinylmation™ Holiday #2, which is out today at D-Street at Disneyland® Resort and Walt Disney World® Resort. If you would like a spoiler of the chaser, visit the Holiday #2 series page.
As we promised yesterday here are the final three figures for Vinylmationâ„¢ Animation #1:
Quasimodo can finally see what's "out there" as we're sure many of our Vinylmationâ„¢ collectors will be carrying this fantastic figure around with them. Monty Maldovan created this design of Quasimodo from Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
Casey Jones created this design of Marie from Disney's Aristocats. The design includes sculpted hair and bow on top of the figure.
The Fairy Godmother from Walt Disney's Cinderella comes complete with her magic wand. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that the magic wand will in any way help you locate the chaser of this series. Monty Maldovan created the original artwork for this Vinylmationâ„¢ figure.
Fans in Florida can meet some of the artists behind Holiday #2 and the new Vinylmation Timepieces today from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at D-Street. Those attending include Eric Caszatt, Mike Sullivan, Monty Maldovan and Maria Clapsis.
Just a reminder that we are close to 5,500 fans on our official Facebook page. Once we get to that magical number, we will share a special sneak preview. So tell your friends.

Here is a recap from yesterday's Artist Party at D-Street in Florida. A big thank you to the fans who attended.
We had a couple of questions about one figure from Holiday #2 - the chick with the egg by Rachel Sur. Where is the artist card?
The answer - we did not make a card for this figure. Going forward, you will see a transition out of the cards (meaning future series will not contain artist cards). This makes the chick one of the first figures not to have a card produced (besides Vinylmationâ„¢ - Clear #1).

Way to go! We have passed the 5,500 mark on our official Facebook page. Woohoo! As promised, here is a look at several items for Disneyland® Resort. First up are the Attraction Posters. These 9-inch figures were designed by Alex Maher from Disney Design Group. You may have seen the artwork but we are proud to present the turn-arounds of the figures.
A little fun fact about these figures. The most challenging one ... the Monorail. It was the last of the figures to be approved as the wrapping of the artwork took a little more time than expected.
And now something new. This 3-inch figure will be an Passholder Exclusive created for Disney California Adventure - specifically Goofy's Sky School. There will be a series of Passholder Exclusive figures created for the various attractions at Disney California Adventure. Look for them coming next year.
When we get to 4,000 fans, we'll share some exciting things for Walt Disney World® Resort. Hmmm ... could it be things related to the 40th Anniversary?

Here is a look at one of the dated 2011 Vinylmationâ„¢ figures that will be appearing soon:
As you can see, as you rotate the Vinylmationâ„¢ figure the numbers for 2011 can be seen over a dark blue background. This Vinylmationâ„¢ figure will be sold in an open window box and is part of a series of four different designs. We'll be unveiling the other designs throughout the week.

Here are the last two dated 2011 Vinylmation™ figures:
We especially like the opaque finish on the bottom figure, it really gives the figure a unique look. Look for all of these figures to appear at Walt Disney World® and Disneyland® Resort before the end of the year.

Greetings, Programs! Happy TRON day.
We have a bit of unfortunate news to share. The scheduled release for the on-line exclusive figure of the Mad Hatter and Dormouse has been delayed. It was scheduled to release this morning on our Disney Parks On-Line store - Disney Parks On-Line Store. We recognize that some of you may have got up early to purchase this figure set. For that, we sincerely apologize
Good news is that we have a date - 12/20. And this time, we are sticking to it!

Happy holidays everyone!
We'll be taking a small break from posting while we enjoy the holidays. However, expect some exciting news next week including a special preview at midnight on New Year's Eve.
December 31, 2010
We just wanted to remind all of our readers to join us at midnight, Eastern Time tonight for our special New Year's Eve preview. See you then!
January 1, 2011
Happy new year everyone! We're really excited about 2011 and the great collections that will be released. So let's get started with the preview...
Starting off we have more news on Animation #1 and a preview of a 3" figure we haven't shown before:
Those who have been paying attention should notice that this Pinocchio figure differs from the one we showed earlier. This other design is a new feature in Vinylmationâ„¢ collections that we call a "variant." These figures will be a similar design to the normal figure found in the series, but with a twist. For example, the more commonly found Pinocchio in Animation #1 has donkey ears and the variant does not. Expect to see these variant figures in many of the upcoming Vinylmationâ„¢ series.
Let's continue our look at Animation #1 with the limited edition figures:
Fans of Disney's Pete's Dragon will love this 9" + 3" combo set with Elliot the Dragon and Pete.
Another 9" figure is the Beast from Disney's Beauty and the Beast exhibiting a rather fierce expression.
All of these figures will be released along with the 3" collection on January 7. However, there are four other 9" figures coming in late spring. One of them is Hyacinth Hippo from Walt Disney's Fantasia. We particularly love the inclusion of the tutu skirt:
Next we have a follow up on Park #6, which is currently scheduled for a late winter release:
This figure was inspired by the Primeval Whirl Attraction at Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park.
Casey Jones designed this figure inspired by the tiki totems found in the Adventureland® Area.
As we're sure our Vinylmationâ„¢ collectors know, the combo packs for the Park series have been featuring Mickey Mouse in some of his most famous starring roles. So what's next for Park #6? Presenting Mickey in one of his most unusual shorts, Runaway Brain:
Now we're going to switch gears and move to a different series that has been generating a lot of excitement, The Disney Afternoon. These Vinylmationâ„¢ Figures will be limited edition and sold in open windowed boxes of two, similarly to the Wall-E/EVE release in 2010. The first set will feature Baloo and Kit Cloudkicker from Disney's Talespin:
Notice that Baloo has a pilot hat accessory. Now if we could only get that catchy theme song out of our head, any tips? Finally, we have a preview of a new previously unannounced series, Vinylmation Jr #3 - Good Luck + Bad Luck. As you might expect from the title, half of the designs in the series focus on items associated with good luck (such as horseshoes, four leaf clovers) and the other half on things associated with bad luck (like friday the 13th, and a broken mirror). Here are two cats, one lucky and one not-so lucky:
That concludes our glimpse into the future, we hope you enjoyed this special preview!
