What's up with Mickey's and Minnie's eyes? (Picture heavy)

Hey all,

I was just looking at setting up my RSP and was looking through the pin catalog and noticed something weird... For several of these pins, Mickey's and Minnie's eyes are fully colored in. To me, it makes them look like the Animaniacs (Yakko, Wakko, and their sister Dot).


But then in other pins, Mickey and Minnie look normal... What's up with that?

That does look weird. I get that they were using a different art style, but in the jumbo Figment and Dumbo have normal eyes while Mickey and Minnie look like they just got their eyes dilated.

Maybe it has something to do with some of the classic Mickey and Minnie cartoons.
Their eyes were solid in color.

I actually like the eyes for some reason!
