*Nods* Yeah, the feeling that all my favorite pins are the impossible to get ones wears on me a bit, too. Especially since I prefer trading to buying second-hand . . . but without living right next to one of the parks, or going to huge events, how do I get any traders of equal worth to start with?

For your Lady CA pin, there are a couple of people posting about D23 pickups in the For Sale/Wanted forum!

Thank you! And living by DLR, I may just start rebelling by offering LE pins that I pick up at the park for non-LE pins that I actually want.

Ha, that would be awesome - if there are any new releases from Box Lunch (I have one of the actual stores in close driving distance) you're ever interested in, I'd be happy to trade.
 
I am located in Hong Kong and I am indeed quite new to pin trading (I just started pin trading in last November).

I learnt that pin posters will be released each month to foreshadow what pins will be dropped in WDW/DLR. And new pins drop in HKDL too, but not all of the pins dropped in WDW/DLR will drop in HKDL. The problem is that pins in HKDL is much cheaper, so if a pin will be dropped in HKDL as well, I prefer buying it in HKDL instead of buying from resellers from WDW/DLR.

So here's my question - Is there any hints from the poster such that I would know which pins will be dropped in HKDL as well? One of the thing I think of is reading from the backing card as it would list out the address of the distributors, but I am not 100% sure whether it is of reference value.

Any thought about this? Thank you so much!
 
Unfortunately, being in the US, I'm not as familiar with what is typical for HKDL. The flyers for WDW / DLR are for their Limited Edition or Limited Release pins. I don't think there is a lot of overlap between those and what HKDL releases. There is definitely some overlap with open edition pins. But there is no flyer for those types of pins. There are US LE pins that get released online at the UK DisneyStore.com site (often before being released in the US), but I didn't think they also released the pins on the Asia DisneyStore.com site.

Ah, I just checked. So it looks like Disney Store Asia might get some of the more character or movie oriented releases. Or the annual merchandise collection that is done by Disney Store, that is also stocked at US parks like this year's Pooh series and previously Mickey Main Attraction / Stitch Snacks type series. I see a Stitch 626 Day pin, Baymax anniversary, Cinderella anniversary mystery box. But I don't see what they might have had that sold out. I think it would take some tracking to know for sure.

There might overlap between things like Walt Disney Day, or do you guys get things like the Doctors Day / Nurses Day stuff? But I don't think there is going to be a lot of overlap.
 
I did a little more digging tonight, and it looks like HKDL's estore sometimes gets US pins that are released through our DisneyStore.com site. For example, I saw recent pins being the Stitch 626 Day, and the Muppets pin that just came out on Tuesday. But I saw these on the HKDL page https://www.hongkongdisneyland.com/events/disney-pin-trading/ so that probably is the best resource of what is releasing, and look for the ones that say worldwide.
