How do I get an animated 'avatar'?

I found this great animated picture that I want to use as my avatar but everytime I upload it, it does not animate. It looks like a still picture. I noticed that some users have animated avatars and I would love to have one myself.

Is there anything I can do to make this work?

I know I'm being no help. But i could not get mine to do that at all it's odd cause it worked on another pin forum but not here.. Maybe it's the way this site is?

Animated avatars are enabled.

perhaps your file is larger than the allowed filesize (~150KB, which is relatively small for an animated GIF, especially if it's more than just a few frames)
