DSF/DSSH DSSH February 23, 2020 Event at Disneyland Hotel

DSF/DSSH DSSH February 23, 2020 Event at Disneyland Hotel
I definitely want to go! I would actually keep so many of these pins, they're lovely! I've just had such rotten luck the last few event registrations...

Thanks for posting about this @starry_solo . I think the pins are sweet, but fortunately for me, there's only one pin that I need - and it's for my mum. If at all possible, I would be interested in a co-op so I can get it for her.
Well, never fear, one will be coming. I hope to have mine posted in the next day or so. Keep an eye out as it will be first-come-first-served! :D

Would really love to go. Highly considering the Trading Package, but does anyone who has gone to the past events know that Trading Package holders come in once the boards are brought out? I've only gone to the Dumbo event (last year March) and I remember the first half was just the lunch and some games before the boards came out.

If it’s like the last few events, the higher tier package will have about an hour or so of trading board time before the lower tier package is let in to join the existing trade board lines.

Just to close the loop from my earlier note, I have posted a co-op for this event's pins.

Wish I could go.
Wish you could go too. :(

I have gone to a few of these. Sometimes on the expensive package and sometimes the lower trading package. This Feb. 23 event seems very similar to the Pinsgiving event DSSH held just before Thanksgiving, 2018. It was also at the Disneyland Hotel and allowed for 400 attendees. I bought the trading package and was pleased with my investment. Some observations:
1) For the 2 tier events, pin boards are brought out usually about 45 minutes prior to the trading packages getting into the event. So if you have the expensive package, I would guess you could get through the lines 2-3 times prior to the lower package attendees entering.
2) Boards are refreshed regularly throughout the event, so both packages will have the chance of fresh boards.
3) The Pinsgiving event was crowded (with the potential for 400 attendees.) The lines were long and my board pulls were pretty average... (ie, not really exciting). At the Dumbo event the lines were shorter and I pulled two grails. I am sharing this because I am anticipating the 23Feb event will be similar to Pinsgiving and not Dumbo (although the board pulls might improve if DSSH actually increases the number of board lines to accommodate the increase in attendees.)
4) The trading package does miss the dinner and games, but not a great loss IMHO (especially with a mark up of $155 for dinner, games, an extra PTD voucher and the marquee.)

I still have not fully decided, but leaning towards the lower package... just to cut down on the expense.

Thanks for your insight. Also my thoughts exactly for #4. The trading package is my first choice but I guess I’ll have to settle with the sweetheart package if it doesn’t work out.

Hahaha... we are so on the same page. :)

Same here here butttt, any stock to chatter that ‘set 5’ may be a surprise? Have they ever done anything like that before?

I just sent an email to the DSSH pin gurus, asking for clarification (typo or mystery pin.) Will let you know what response I gain.

Response from DSSH regarding 5 pin sets:
  • "It is a typo, we updated the pin flyers on Friday in the event page with the correct labeling. Sorry for the confusion!"
Awwww...I was starting to get excited by the idea of surprise pins.
But thanks for the info!

I believe the farewell gift aka surprise pin will be a colored marquee of the diecast version....what do you think @TheMickeyMouseRules
That would be a great surprise and very cute. I hope you are right.

In all the events I have attended (6 I think) dssh has only done the gift as a pin at the pinsgiving event and it was a Marquee. I do wish all of the event gifts were pins.

All 22 of these pins are listed on Pin Trading Database with pictures (the concept art ones, obviously). Once these are released, it would be great to have pictures - on a plain white or plain black background - of each of the pins, front & back :D
