RAK = Random Act of Kindness.​

This is a wonderful thing that we do each month for a member of our family here at DPF. If you want to participate, post here or pm me. If you want to nominate someone- as always pm me.

Quarter 3 nominations close Aug 2nd.​

I am now taking nominations for RAK victims. You do not need to be signed up to send in a nomination for someone deserving.

The only requirement to be a RAK victim is that they have to be a member for at least 30 days. Otherwise, anyone deserving can be nominated.

If the RAK victim is not located within the US, I will be asking everyone to send their packages directly to the individual and have scheduled days for those who participate to start mailing out their packages. Unless we can come to a decision on how to do a group mailing since overseas shipping is so expensive.

The schedule will be as follows:

  • Nominations are taken: January, April, July, and October
  • Announcement and package gathering will occur: February, May, August and November
  • Package mail out to winner will happen: March, June, September and December

People asked for a little more transparency in how the victim is chosen..​

So YES — a person can win with a single vote. If only one person sends in a single nomination and no one else does than that person will win. Which is why nominations are so important to send in, because it is majority rules.

If you have signed up for it in the past and no longer want to be involved please pm me a note.

If you want to join in and be part of this wonderful thing we do for members here, please post below.

You can participate any or every month you like. You will not be sent to pin prison if you don't participate.

Yay! Glad to see we are getting back to RAKing.

And I agree that we should leave the nomination process open as it has been before. If somebody wants to nominate someone, they should be free to do so. If they feel they are worthy, then they are worthy.

The only guideline I was thinking was appropriate was they have to be a member for 30 days to be eligible.
