I haven't bumped this in a looooong time, but I'm still looking! Anyone have any of these DA Stitches for trade?
 
I don't have any of the pins you need, but I confess I went looking for this thread a couple of weeks ago to see how you were doing. I've been very impressed with your project, and how successful you've been. The wants almost fit in one post now! I keep playing with the idea of attempting a similar project for 2012 (2011 has been a lot about playing catch-up and completing sets), but I have 3 themes I am tempted to go after and I'm not sure which one I want to do (or more honestly, which one I will have the most success with). So I have a bit more thinking to do over the next few months.

Can I ask a question? I was wondering what your ratio of "trades vs purchases" has been?

Thanks! I know...I really hope to be around 80 or so by the end of the year but that will be tough. I have gotten so distracted with the new pins this year. PODM pins are killing me and keeping up with the DLRP PTNs as well has been a real challenge. I was truckin' along really well until July....then these just had to take a back seat.

Wow, the trade vs purchases is a good question! Unfortunately it has been more purchasing, but let's see:

January - 12 Trade - 4 Purchase
February - 31 Trade - 24 Purchase
March - 2 Trade - 36 Purchase
April - 5 Trade - 27 Purchase
May - 0 Trade - 4 Purchase
June - 2 Trade - 13 Purchase
July - 0 Trade - 3 Purchase
August - 2 Trade - 2 Purchase

Two of the trades were actually gifts, but treating them as trades, I traded for 54 or them and purchased 115. 🙁 Not a very good ratio, but I just found it cheaper that way. I've found that a lot of people just want way too much for them. They'll want a $30 pin when I could just go to ebay and get it for $15. Stinks, but that's just the way it goes sometimes. :dunno:

So Erica, is 185 acquired the final total for 2011? Or are there December acquisitions? I have to say, I'm so impressed! Are you going to keep with this in 2012, or move onto a new project?

Yep, 185 is the official count. I had been meaning to do a wrap up but just never got around to it. I'm a little bummed I didn't get any further. I just got so busy that I could barely think about pins and as a result December was a total bust. I didn't get anything done this month except get the Sword in the Stone PODM and a couple of rack pins. 🙁

I think there are three things that really slowed my quest:

1). I was completely distracted by PODM and that on top of trying to keep up with PTN pins, my attention and pin funds kept getting pulled away from this.

2). I got super busy starting in mid November and didn't do much with pins at all.

3). Now that I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel of the ones I need, they are mostly the ones I'm not all that crazy about. 🙁. I still want them but I don't have the urgency I have with a pin I really want and I because these are low on my list I don't want to pay the prices people want. 🙁

Overall though, I'm happy with how this turned out. I do wish I had traded more than purchased, but that just wasn't working out. In the long run it was cheaper to buy. 🙁

But, to answer your question, yes, I'll definitely continue this into 2012. 🙂 I just don't know when I'll be able to really focus on it again. I'd love it if I could get it finished this year!

I finally updated the initial post with 2011 results. I'm still looking for the rest if anyone happens to have the remaining 78 I'm looking for. Hopefully I can get this completed in 2012!!! 🙂
 
Yikes....you know you have been neglecting your trade thread when you have to go all the way to page 37 to find it!
