That is stupid idea. Pin traders are making Disney a nice profit! I have heard you very recently in person say that you had to get a certain amount of money out of selling some pins in order for it to be worth it. So why are you complaining as if you don't do the same thing? I personally like the way disney does it you get handed 4-5 you pick the two you want. Who says the two you pick are going to be the cells that sell for hundreds on ebay. I know that the scene I picked for tangled I thought was gonna be good sure the heck is not the one that got sold for $400 but non the less it's what I like and that is what makes everyone's pin collection even that much better!

Yours might not be THE one that sold for $400, but you DID just list today the same identical scene on ebay also. And you've got several others listed for sale for a nice profit as well.

As of 5/29, you've sold 5 Tangled scenes for a total of $619.12. You've got another Tangled auction ending tomorrow that is already $362.99 and the DSF books at $149.78 with over 2 days left on that.

No wonder you don't want Disney to change their methods on the PODM releases.

Also, I'm pretty sure I just figured out what their real seller account was. I noticed the listing title said something along the lines of "Piece of Disney Movie II." I thought that the 'II' at the end looked familiar, so I did a broad search and found there are only two sellers who use this 'II' in their piece of Disney movie listings. Interesting...

1. the one that sold for 403, (holding the hair) did not have the shill bidder. it had 12 bidders who totaled out at 38 bids. all bidders had history, seller has history too.:eek2:
2. the one that sold for 344, (boot scene) did have the possible shill bidder. (possibly 2) with auto bids back and forth, bumping price from 205 to 339. even better, the seller had no history either. (I bid on this one once)
3. several PODM's with Maximus in scenes like #1 and 2 have sold for 100-160. non from seller #1, none with bids from the zero history bidder.:drool:
4. the one currently up for bid at 362 (holding hair) is the same no history seller as #2, and again, the "shill" bidder is highest bid,(as of me typing this) with multiple auto bids .:rant:

My personal conclusion; seller #1 who got $403 for the pin, had a real, legit, crazy bid war. Seller #2, who is also selling #4, is possibly padding the bids. Only we cannot prove it, the winning bidder is really the only one who can complain and only ebay can research and prove it. :shock: Mostly be checking out IP addresses.

So, if you bid on #2, and lost, you could complain, but it likely wont do any good. If you won #2, send a major complaint to ebay, present your case. If you didn't bid on any, win any, lose any, and just feel like complaining about it because you didn't get the pin you wanted.... Well, be a good looser like me and let it go.

I suspect that there are multiple shill bidding accounts, the one with zero feedback is just the easiest to spot. Remember, ANY account can be a potential shill bit, even if it has a lot of feedback. It could be a sister, brother, cousin, friend, whatever. If you look at the boot scene you will see that there were two main bidders driving the price up: nb-38 and eo-0.

When you look at the potentially legit auction for the hair scene the winner was also nb-38. At the same time that the bids for this pin were being pushed up and up there was a BIN sitting out there for $400 (and still sitting out there). The next highest big was for $398 from nf-private. Now, if someone was really willing to pay $398 for a pin then why wouldn't they snatch up the one for $400 when they realized that they were outbid? Now, this in no way means that the seller of this pin was involved. Other people (who possibly have no intention of paying for the item) may have been driving the price on it up to create a frenzy and justify their own higher prices.

I don't know....a lot of it is just speculation and we'll never know the full truth but it all seems very suspect to me. And it isn't about people complaining that they didn't get what they wanted. It is about people not wanting to be taken advantage of. These artificially set prices are hurting the hobby in my opinion. When someone gets suckered into paying $100 for a pin that is now worth $50 they are going to get frustrated and leave. If it was all legit and enough people really did want this pin that bad then I'd have go problem with it. Artificially driving the prices up on pin collectors is what I have a problem with.

You know, there are some deals on pins on Ebay for single HTF ans some VHTF pins if you are looking for ones which are a few years old, and older at times. I will admit I have sold pins on Ebay a couple years ago after I saw how much one pin was going for and made quite a bit. But driving up the price with shill bidders is akin to today's gas prices, it's just WRONG.

Too bad we can't match these sellers to a DPF name and wish them into the cornfield.
