Hi All,

I am usually pretty good at finding pins on PinPics, but this one is eluding me!!! Anyone know what it is?

I got it off a CM lanyard at Hollywood Studios. I think it is a monogram pin, but all the keywords I have tried are failing. I tried typing in the backstamp words, mickey, daisy, donald, pluto, minnie, goofy, oval, monogram, high gloss, etc...

Back of the pin reads simply: ©Disney Mfg. by M.I.I. CHINA
Silver tone metal, with pebbled texture (older pin before waffle stamps)
Front of the pin is a high gloss smooth coating.

Ooops...I had posted this and then realized it's not the same as 81098 has all the ornamentation around the outside of the circle...sorry!

------

On PinPics I searched for "fab 6 circle" (without the quotes) and it was the 3rd to last one (only including what I searched for because somebody else did that for me a while back and it helped me find some others!)

PinPics 80198

I'm not sure on this, but I'm getting the feeling that this might be a fake of some sort. A bad reproduction of the Jerry Leigh pin, perhaps? There are some very strange flaws on the pin, like on Pluto's paw and Goofy's ear. I can't say for sure, but I can't find anything like it other than the Leigh on PinPics.

Hi,
thanks. I just can't tell either. The pin is not round at all, although the picture makes it look a little bit round. It is a definite oval. If it is fake, for a knock off pin, it is very well done. :) Nice smooth edges and nice colors etc...
Maybe it is one of those fakes I'll hate to love. hahaha

Hi all, new here but wanted to add to this post. We recently traded with a CM at Hollywood as well and got a very similar pin and description. Ours is a birthday(?) party Mickey, glossy smooth coating but the metal can see the scraping like I see on a lot of fakes. Says (c) Disney Mfg. by M.I.I. China with textured but smooth backing.

I am not sure if anyone has seen this pin as well but leaning towards fake, almost like the manufacturers have wised up to the flat dull paint and decided some clear coat will make it pop.

So I found 41195 has the right color clothing (Minnie's dress) and pose for everyone - but overall shape matches 80198 (with wrong color background). Maybe the mfg though that didn't count as a counterfeit if you merge 2 pins together....

Jerry Leigh pins have the shiny clear coat. They are legitimate Disney Pins, usually sold at Target. So it could be a real Jerry Leigh.

I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss it as a fake- Pinpics isn't a complete database by any means. This artwork is used on several different legitimate pins (almost the same group layout as Pin 68355 WDW - Cast Member - Making Dreams Come True Summer 2007 (College Program) Dangle as well), it might just be an older pin (where the high-gloss finish was more common, and the lack of a date on the backstamp) or a new booster pin from one of the international parks.

Hi,
Here is the back stamp. It looks like a legit older stamp, like the ones on Jerry Leigh pins.

I am still leaning to this being a real pin. :)
The quality is good, and the colors and coating look nice. It is an oval, not round like the other pin listed on PinPics. I'll submit it and see what happens. :)

I've been able to find out that MII stands for Monogram International Inc. who did do a couple pins for Disney that are on Pinpics, will see what else i can dig up. I love a good search :)

edit -- hmm now days they seem to be focused on producing pewter disney lapel pins but they have definately made normal disney pins in the past. They look equal to jerry leigh in that they make a bunch of disney licensed products a bit cheaper than disney direct would. Based on that i would think its definately a legit pin. But that's just noone's opinion LOL.

I have no information, but I have to say that I like this pin! Nice grouping of characters and very colorful.

Yes, I originally thought it was a monogram pin too.

Im not sure but I think these are the "new Jerry Leigh" pins. Last time I was at Target they did not have the usual Jerry Leigh pins but instead pins with this stamp on the back. Bought a few of them because I think they were cute. They are cheap at Target and Walmart too I think. I did not find any of mine on pinpics, probably because they are new and not made by Disney. They all have that shiny surface.

I think I just got the same “Birthday Mickey” pin, today. I tried to open your image, but it wouldn’t open on my phone. I can’t find this pin anywhere else on the web, either. Have you found out anymore about this piece? Any information would be greatly appreciated - thanks!
