This Post your WDI Heroines theories! thread has inspired me to create this one.

In the event someone else has already created such a thread, then I apologize for duplicating that effort, but I haven’t seen one so hopefully this is the first one.

4 pins have already been released, featuring (in order):
Maleficent
Jafar
Hades
Ursula

There may be as many as 8 more pins released this year in this series.

Oogie Boogie is likely to be featured on one of the remaining pins - because - of the numerous (and therefore, at least in so far as I am concerned, suspicious) PP pins that are being auctioned off on eBay, along with similarly suspicious Ursula PP pins.

So this leaves possibly 7 more pins in this series to be released this year.

What are your ideas on which Villians will be featured on these 7 remaining pins?

I think it is very likely that we will see:
Evil Queen

I would very much like to see:
Queen of Hearts
Doctor Facilier
Turbo

Oogie is pretty much a given thanks to the scrappers.

My guesses are, based entirely on who the "popular" villains are that Disney likes using, in no specific order:
Queen of Hearts
Captain Hook
Cruella
Scar
Facilier
Evil Queen/Hag
Lady Tremaine

I would like to see but are less likely to be used:
Prince John
King Candy/Turbo
Bellwether
Madam Mim

I was thinking that this line may use the same characters as the WDW Villains-Friday the 13th Reflections of Evil Trading Event Countdown pins maybe minus one as this is a monthly series:
Maleficent - released
Jafar - released
Hades - released
Cruella De Vil
Queen of Hearts
Ursula - released
Chernabog
Captain Hook
Gaston
Dr. Facilier
Scar
Oogie Boogie - to be released (PP versions on eBay listings with photos)

I'll just put my very much like to see list:

Gaston
Yzma
Shan Yu
Headless horseman (how awesome would that be?!?)

Thank you for being so very gracious regarding my unintended bad-form. :)

Maybe one of the Mod-s might be able to append this thread to the end of your earlier one?
No bad form here... I love this series. Its fun to talk about it any chance I get. :)

I am going to believe mother gothel is a good possibility.

@this_and_that perhaps we could go into more detailed wishes for the favorite secondary images on the wofe pins with this thread? For example the bottom of the Ursula pin has a sillhoette of Ariel from the part of the movie where I think Ariel is losing her tail and flotsum and jetsum are on the frame. If that is acceptable... I will start:
Evil queen: an apple and mirror
Queen of hearts: ???
And because I am not creative I am out of ideas. :p

The big scary
Maybe the flamingos and cards around the frame while the king could be part of a lower section of a Queen of Hearts pin?

Any takers for a Dr. Facilier window design?
The big scary mask from the end of his song with a lot of sparks of bright colors and some little voodoo dolls? And maybe the Shadow Facilier somewhere.

Also, a set of stained glass villain windows needs the villain from a movie about a cathedral. It's not gonna happen. But I am dreaming of a Frollo set in front of the rose window with the fire Esmeralda at the bottom. Pleeeeeease, Disney, I will cryyyy.

Seems like facilier wofe would be beautiful.

I am rooting for your frollo!

Frollo would be sick, that whole Hellfire scene would be PERFECT! I hope they do Scar, and one I know they won't do but would be cool is Clayton from Tarzan.

This Frollo concept! YES!

I want a Horned King one but not if the prices are going to continue to be crazy. I don't collect Hunchback but I think a Frollo one would be cool. It would be fun to see Prince John (I might want that one) and how about some villain pin love for Medusa, Ratcliffe and Ratigan?

Okay... Had to sleep on it but have one...
Lady Tremaine: and the background would have Lucifer and shattered glass (for the glass slipper). The frame would have skeleton keys.

. . .perhaps we could go into more detailed wishes for the favorite secondary images on the wofe pins with this thread? . . .

This is a fabulous idea. Thank you for suggesting it. :)

Before I can give my theories, I need to look at the four pins in this series already released in detail to determine what similarities, if any, there are in the designs.

Note: I had both Malie and Ursula in hand, but for Jafar and Hades I had to rely on the PinPics picture and description.

Maleficent pin
=.=.=.=.=.=.=.
character at top - Malie in her dragon persona, facing forward
character at bottom - Malie in her human persons, from the back, possibly at the beginning of transforming into a dragon.
symbols on frame - spinning wheel at top.

Jafar pin
=.=.=.=.=
character at top - Jafar in his Genie persona, facing forward.
character at bottom, background - Cave of Wonders (CoW), center top of head, facing forward.
character at bottom, foreground - Jafar facing forward, looking up, staff raised, possibly transforming himself into a genie (which is not as I remember how it happened in the film).
symbols on frame - scarab that opened the CoW at top, the magic lamp at bottom, centered.

Hades pin
=.=.=.=.=.
< I am not very familiar with either Hades or the film Hercules itself. And even after reading the detailed PinPics description, I am not sure how to describe the pin using the format detailed above, which is an attempt to point out similarities in design. So perhaps another forum member would do this?>

Ursula pin
=.=.=.=.=.
character at top - Ursula facing forward, possibly in the act of taking Ariel's voice.
character at bottom -silhouette of Ariel at the beginning of her transformation from a mermaid into a human.
symbols on frame - shell necklace that will hold Ariel's voice at top. Flotsam and Jetson in bottom corners, one on each side.

Based on only the details noted above for the Malie, Jafar, and Ursula pins. . . I am really not seeing consistency in the designs.

Based on Malie and Jafar only, I could see the likely EQ pin focusing on her transformation from EQ into Old Hag, with the magic mirror face being at the center bottom of the frame, and the poisoned apple being at the center top of the frame

Based on Ursula only, I could see the hoped for QoH pin showing the QoH at the top in a rage pursuing a tiny Alice seen at the bottom from the side running back to the Doorknob ( it's not showing at the bottom of the pan back rather possibly centered at the top of the frame). And across the bottom four of the cards pursuing Alice, one from each suit.

@Tamatoa . . . I love your idea for the Facilier pin.

@Tamatoa . . . Your idea for their Frollo pin has made me think of one for a Scar pin. . . which is so shocking I will not describe in detail do as not to offend LK collectors: Scar causing the death of Mufasa. No offense was meant to LK collectors. I just think that that was the most horrible thing Scar did in the film, and that is why I think any WoE pin featuring Scar should be of that.

The pins do seem to focus on significant evil actions of the villains. Stealing Ariels voice, Jafar and the cave of wonders where he traps Aladdin, Maleficent during her scariest transformation as dragon... not sure about Hades (a movie I have only watched once... need some help here). So your theory about Scar, while dark, I believe follows a rough pattern.

Gaston seems like another sure thing for this series, but I am struggling to come up with secondary images for the pin (just a beer keg and antlers and that was done with last year's essence series.) The only other image would be Gaston attacking and almost killing Beast and that is also a pretty dark one.

Maleficent and Jafar also have their transformations highlighted on their pins... so I would think any villain who does a transformation would have that image included. Although Ursula's Vanessa is not on her pin... maybe non-human transformations?

The secondary images on the pins are really making this series for me. I love the Jafar pin with the cave of wonders and the dark genie.

As a Lion King collector, you have not not offended me. However, I believe Scar's actions may have been completely justified. Although, I may be biased.

Did something happen with the Ursula release? I saw a couple of posts on Instagram that the lines/crowds were so out of control that hardcore pin people said the whole pin experience is getting ruined for them. That coupled with the insanity of DSSH and they're done.

It was pretty wild. On the way to Tomorrowland a grown man nearly mowed me down sprinting to Command Center, and my best friend said Westward Ho was even worse. Lots of running and pushing and arguing depending on where you were :(

It brought out the worst in evetyone, and it became a frenzy. Once parks opened the lines built up very quickly, and you went from one line to another. If you were lucky, the best possibility was 2-3 stores max. People were pushing and cutting lines before it sold out. Those that had more in their group were the ones that got the most, they were helping each other at each location and able to scout ahead status of store availability. It will be interesting if they announce the next ones, instead of wristbands they might make them surprise teleases, that way it would deter the crowds at opening. Similar to DSSH flips

Going back to January 2015, the first diamond countdown pin (an LE 3000) was (per my understanding) effectively a surprise release. Due to this many of them ended up in the hands of pin resellers and the prices were at $150+ for the first pin in a short amount of time. I would think a surprise release could end up with a similar result for a windows of evil pin. So a surprise release is probably not the best idea, if your goal is to put the pin directly into the most customer hands (and not into the hands of resellers.)

On April 12 for the Ursula release, the line at DD pin traders was quite civilized (at least at the time I was there) and it was the only vendor outside of the park with Ursula left at that point, so no option for running to the next line. Less locations selling probably is the next needed step. And also what Disney did for diamond countdowns... only sold at Green Men, Katz and DD Pin Traders for the last 5 releases (March-July).

At this point, it does seem that DLR needs to implement some rules for these pin releases.

I remembet there being a flyer posted of the 60th Diamonds with release dates from Disney on their site. I thought the first was a short notice and on a weekend. But I can check with a friend to see if they remember, because by the time i got there it sold out. Foolishly I didn't think there was a rush so I got there too late, in the afternoon. According to a CM the 60th diamond with Walt was wanted by a larger group of people: old timers, Disneland fans, all CMs, and pin traders
If they did limit the stores to 3 probably that would be better. Use to be the stores would put tape down on the ground to organize the line, but lately there hasn't been one, so people make the lines.
