Ive just had my very 1st offer for trade on PinPics and wondered if you think this is a good trade or not?? all the pins are on my wants list but not pins im desprate for,
At first he offered me

Pin 79066 (Disney Store Europe - Stitch dressed as a Pirate)

which i did reply to saying i didnt want to trade at the moment (I dont mind tradeing though but reciveing my first offer put me on gaurd a little as i dont really know the system for trades, ive only bought and sold on this fourm) (though i do really like this pin lol) then he messsaged back offering one of these two pins:Pin 82309: DLR - 2011 Hidden Mickey Series - Alice In Wonderland Comics Collection - Queen of Hearts (no LE listed on pinpics but i have the rest of this set in my owns)

Pin 70910: WDW - The Museum of Pin-tiquities - Disney Pin Celebration 2009 - Mystery Pack - Ancient Coins - Mickey Only( LE 1000) (I'd love to have all these ancients pins as i love history but as yet have none)

he wants my Pin 87620 (Disney Store Europe - Jaq and Gus) the latesest realse one, LE 350 So what do you think is a good trade? also could you pm me for the persons user name to let me know youve delt with him before and whats hes like (dont think im allowed to post it on here???)

thanks for help!

To be honest, it's really about what you want. Are you collecting Cinderella pins? How important is the Jaq+Gus pin to you? He's offering you two pins, both of which you do want, but are they worth it to you right now? Personally, I'd be a little iffy about trading such a low LE for an HM, even if it does come with another pin, only because HMs are easily scrappered.

If the Jaq+Gus pin isn't too important to you and you aren't that attached to it, go for it. Trading is about getting what you want and trading away what you don't (admittedly there's more but that's the main point right now).

Hi
I am with LadyArmonua,on trading a LE 350 for a HM pin, even though you need it.
The trade rationals are like this:

the 82309 is 74T/90W and the 70910 is a 61T/22W..for a LE 1000 I was surprised by that number

and yours is:87620 LE 350 17T/16 W

OK humor me here...when I trade,I look at release date

Pin 82309: DLR - 2011 Hidden Mickey Series - Alice In Wonderland Comics Collection - Queen of Hearts was released this year 2011 in January
I see NO scrapper warning there..thats a good thing!

Pin 70910: WDW - The Museum of Pin-tiquities - Disney Pin Celebration 2009 - Mystery Pack - Ancient Coins - Mickey Only released June 26, 2009
Thats a fair trade to me!oin this one

the one they want was released as you mentioned:
11th November 2011

NOW the Mickey one as you can see has more trades than wants, still surprises me there
Go with your gutt..if you think its a good trade..go for it...they are offering 2 for 1
Always check refs on EVERY request you recieve...need to be careful.

I hope you make a good trade and good luck

Judy

A trade is just that - I give you something, you give me something. It is also a negotiation. I make you an offer and you make a counter-offer. It depends on who really wants what. If you don't collect Cinderella but you need the pins being offered ask yourself. Can I get another Jaq & Gus (it's a new pin after all) if I trade this one. You can also make a counteroffer. If you feel that you offered an LE350 and his are HM and Public then ask for all three for your pin. It's all part of the negotiation. If they say OK, and you are OK then the deal is done. If they say no, then you have to make a decision. How badly do you want those pins. Personally, I have a lot of those ancient coins and you cannot give them away. No one wants them. But that's just my nickel's worth.

I have also just checked the wants/trades ratio and its negative i.e. 17 traidng and 16 wanting its a good deal

Jacqui
yeah but its still a LE350 pin for a hidden mickey pin ,and the queen of hearts pin is super small, I wouldn't do it. Maybe like Margaret said, ask for all three. Then you have to think if you want to pay for shipping to get a HM.

I personally wouldn't make the trade but as others above have said it depends how much you like the pins offered

thanks for the advice guys, I have emailed the person with a counter offer asking for maybe 2 or 3 pins, so we'll see what they come back with, I bought an extra gus and jaq pin to use as a trader so that isnt really a problem but i want to make sure im doing a good trade for both of us out of it.
I'll let you know how it turns out but thanks for all your comments its been really helpfull!!

He was only offering one of the pins for trade and then sent me another message later saying hed got the pin he wanted through someone else, so no trade there! :-(
never mind maybe next time!
Thanks for all your advice though its helpfull and i shall keep it in mind for next time!!

It's funny that no one mentioned the very first rule of pin trading --> check references!

Before I consider a trade with anyone, no matter how insignificant the trade is, I check references on Dizpins. And now we can check on iTrader too.

It's not that I'm unwilling to trade with someone who is new - I have been the first reference of more people than I can count! But for a person without Dizpins or iTrader references, you have to check other types of references (like eBay) or ask them to send their pin first, or at least make sure the pin involved is one you can afford to lose.

When that's all done and good....on to the trading! :hsd:

Always check refs on EVERY request you recieve...need to be careful.

I actually mentioned that in my earlier reply!
