So as a newbie to pin trading I'd like to post my experiance at the barrels for the 1st time. Its was Definitly interesting to say the least. First off a big thank you to the person that wrote the beginners guide here on the forums. The info that they provided was very usefull. All in all it was positive. The social aspect of trading and meeting new people was great. I made my 1st trade with someone right off the bat no fuss trader pin for trader pin. Next, this where the guide came in handy, a trade for edition size for edition size. Good trades and we were both happy. Another Barrel of the same thing good trades based off edition size no prob. Here where the fun started. The last guy I meet, who shall remain nameless, was the most interesting. I introduce my self asked to see his stuff politely and he did graciously. So I found some HM pins that I had been looking for my kids. I asked him about trading and he looked over my stuff. I had two LE 3000 pins and asked about a 4 for 2 trade. He scoffed at it put on his sunglasses but proceded to exam them. It was funny because I knew the pins I had were of some value and the HM's not too common but still Hm's that could bought or traded for over time. He talked up the HM's like they were made of gold and acted like a 4/2 deal was really unheard of, but agreed to do it. I was laughing on the inside because I knew what I was giving up and I'm sure he was thinking what a noob, but I reminded myself about the pin guide and what it said about value. My kids really wanted those HM's and knew they'd be thrilled to see them. And yeah I gave up a lopsided deal in favor of making my kids happy and to test the experiance. They were valuable to them. 3 trades, 3 differant experiences.

I agree, you were not cheated if you knew exactly what you were doing, and were happy with the trade. Glad you didn't feel pressured, and that you had a good experience today!

It sounds like you had a fantastical day! Its always a good trading experience if you got things that you wanted and if you put a smile on your children's faces that is worth all the pins in the world! Grazzles on your new acquisitions!
