2014 Designer Dolls - Fairytale Collection Part II

it's the same for the us store.
honestly i didn't expect phillip to still be in stock.

Phillip is a amazing doll and is my favourite prince. But Eric only had 1500? Made wereas phillip got 3500. Personally I think they just did too many of him as the princes just are not as popular. I hope they don't lower the edition size in the UK! Fair enough lower it for less popular characters but princess's and anything Frozen then the edition size needs to be higher. I fear Mulan and Pocahontas will get even less merchandise in future after their poor sales.

Briar Rose doesn't look as good as she could have been.... But Hey, I don't think we'll EVER get another LE Briar Rose.
As for Phillip, I don't think there's anything wrong with him, I mentioned before that his hair is the only thing setting him apart from the movie. It's combed back instead of the style he had in the movie.

As for LE numbers...
I think Disney made a mistake by making Phillip 3,500. Makes me wonder what Aladdin will be next year. Most probably 2,500... We'll probably see him in his Prince Ali Get up.. Which they already did for the designer couples, so we'll see.

Disney really struggles with getting numbers right. I mean the villains had 13,000 and Anna and Elsa had 2,500 and then blue Aurora had only 4,000 and these (less popular) dolls got 6,000. Maybe they wanted everyone who got the first set a chance to complete the line, but they probably would've done better with 4,000. Also they should've sent more to stores, especially international ones where people don't want to pay shipping and customs. Disney seems to rather place the focus on their site, which is ironic since their online service SUCKS, like it's the worst you've ever heard of!!

Disney just tried to put the order through on my card, but apparently the card was denied. Don't know why. The money was there, they had the correct information. The only thing I can think of is that this is what must have occurred:

Back in mid-September, my bank notified me that the card that had been used to purchase the set with was compromised (this happened almost immediately after Disney hit the card the first time). The bank sent me a replacement card, and I immediately notified Disney of the change. However, my account from that point on showed BOTH card numbers. I made multiple calls to ensure that Disney had the right card. Now, having just gotten off the phone with them, the customer service guy informed me that they tried the compromised card FIRST before trying the new card, both times having the same response of "denied." My guess? The bank, having received the hit on the compromised card first, assumed that the second hit was some kind of fraud and automatically denied the store.

Based on passed experience, I know this isn't good news. While the customer service rep said that the card would be processed again right away, I know that won't be the case. It's going to be put on the back burner until all the other orders have been dealt with. So now the only thing I can do is hope and pray that what happened to those who lost out on Pink Aurora due to Disney over shipping replacements doesn't happen to me.

Any news if there will be any surprises on Tuesday with Briar Rose? Maybe a Big Hero 6 surprise?

Husband is so funny:

Last year: DOLLS?! You're not into dolls?!
Then: "No more dolls!"
This year: "Only Cinderella and Briar Rose, I like the classic princesses."
Release day: "What are these 'surprise dolls'? How many are you going to get?"
That midnight: "You got the ones you missed at the store? Good!"
Today, anticipating Tuesday: "Are there going to be any surprise dolls? What time do WE have to be there?"

Uh huh. I think he got a bit converted.

If anyone in the UK wants to get Mulan the code 'justforyou20' takes 20% off bringing her down to £80! The code is not supposed to work on limited edition items but for some reason it works on Mulan.

I wonder if Tiana, Pocahontas and Mulan will be discounted like the designer villains were. That's how I got the whole set of the villains lol. I'd really like Tiana and Poca but don't have the funds to get them atm. It's a shame these three are the least popular because they are some of the strongest princesses and best role models.

I wonder how fast Aurora will sell? Cinderella is one of the top princesses so she was definitely going to sell fast but Aurora is up in the air. She is popular but more middle of the road. Cindy, Rapunzel, Ariel and Belle are definitely more popular. But she is in her Briar Rose look which makes her more unique. I guess we will see!

Is Belle more popular than Aurora? I agree about the other three, but IMO I thought aurora would more popular than belle. It seems that in this collection, aurora is favored and from what I read, she will go fast.

Aurora is defiantly my favourite princess but based on what I have read I think Belle, Elsa, Anna, Cinderella, Rapunzel and Ariel are more popular. But Aurora is more popular than Tianna, Merida, Snow White?, Pochahontas, Mulana and Jasmine so I guess she's middle of the road.

I would definitely say Belle is more popular than Aurora. I agree Elsa, Cinderella, Rapunzel, Ariel, Belle and Anna are the most popular. I would say Aurora, Jasmine and Snow White are middle of the pack. Snow is the most iconic princess being the first so she has status. Aurora has the most "classic princess" look. And Jasmine is definitely the most popular of the "exotic" princesses. Merida could fit in their too but I don't see a lot about her really. She didn't seem to get the same amount of love Rapunzel, Elsa and Anna received when she was introduced.

And then sadly Mulan, Tiana and Pocahontas would be the least popular.

This is so funny, Propita! I read this to my fiancée and we both had a good laugh over it! It's such a delight when your significant other can respect and enjoy this hobby, too! I have been trying to add Jasmine/Aladdin and Rapunzel/Flynn to my collection and last night HE was the one to say go for it with a set on the secondary market! Would have been nice for him not to pay $550 in my opinion, but that was the best I could find at this point. I'm so greatful to have my other half not only buy my dolls for me when they are released, but also help me complete collections for more when he told me I should have bought them from the begginning. I love everything SO much, but I can't help but get buyers remorse for what I'm costing us! I've spent $2,000 on dolls recently and as awful as I feel about it I keep researching prices for all the dolls I want but am missing. As exciting as this hobby is, it can also be kind of depressing - especially when I think about the fact that I could have bought a wedding dress for that price.

Thank you NightmareMermaid for providing a link to the petition about these issues. Hopefully our concerns are taken into consideration and bring about change!

My pre-order set is due to arrive tomorrow.... am excited and nervous! I just hope they arrive safely and undamaged!

Is anyone in the UK getting this message?
We're sorry. Our Log In and Registration page is currently unavailable. Please feel free to shop as a Guest.

So... DisneyStore UK has crashed before the doll release?
How quaint.

Let's hope it's back up within the next 7 minutes.
