I was at the Love is Magical Event and fell in love with the Alice in Wonderland pins. I spoke to several merchandise manager's about how the pins would be handled and got a different story from each person! One said she thought the would do an RSP (how can that be and still sell them on April 2nd??) another said that she thought it would be a wristband event with signup on line for a wristband lottery. (how can that be? there are so many pins, with the set at LE 100, would that mean that you would have to be in the first 100 to get it and then you could purchase everything??). It is a mystery and we will have to wait to see. I was told that it was originally going to be a one day event like Love is Magical, but their venue fell through and now they are just planning a merchandise sale event. Too bad... I was trying to figure how I could get out there in time!! (Yes, from Maryland!)

I particularly loved this pins and the mystery pins are going to kill me!









 
The RSP at DLR when they did it for the Piece of History(after the HM POH fiasco) pins usually wasn't until about 2 weeks before. Then people got emails stating whether or not they had the opportunity to buy the pins. My guess would be that is what they'll do and do different wristbands for the different levels of pins(LE numbers). Like draw 100 for the first group who can buy one of the framed sets and one of the LE250 Doorknob pins then 2 of everything else if they want, then draw 150 for the second group who can purchase one of the LE250 Doorknob pins(accounting for the 1st 100 that have already possibly been sold) along with 2 of whatever else, and so on. That is just my GUESS. That is also IF, I repeat a BIG IF, they are organized about it. I would hope for this way for those of you who are braving it rather than the line-up wristband system.

Oh, and I am SO relieved that the Mystery pins ended up being LE1000 rather than LE200 like we originally heard. That makes it at least a little better for collectors who will already be spending so much on the lower editions on the secondary market because we don't live near Cali.

i wouldnt be surprised if its not organized well,im getting the idea its gonna be wristband in line,a lot of things that are open sale at dlr end up being this way.i think its just because we dont have a pin managing dept. at dlr like wdw does so it seems like a lot of our le events or sales seem to be this way.but im definately going that day got word back from friend that its a go,so let me know if you need anything ill do my best,just give me a pm.
 
Great pics, I am obsessed with that doorknob pin!!!! Whichever the method for distribution chosen, at least you west coast folks that are able to go will have some kind of shot at these GREAT pins!
 
I am hoping for people's safety sake that it is an online RSP like they did for the beginning of the POH series 2 pins. I still have faith that they won't repeat mistakes that were that bad. Maybe that is just me...
 
just got back from dlr,asked everybody and there brother about the unevent and nothing they looked at me like i was crazy:but 1 lady at little green men said there should be some news the first week of march,and that most likely the thing will be happening at the little green men,but thats all she could give me.so still hurting for more info if anyones heard anything more please post the news.
 
I can't wait for someone to add these pins to pinpics so I can add them to my wants list!
 
Breadnbutterflies, I'm not at all surprised that you couldn't get a straight answer from most CM's at the pin stores. Usually when I ask about certain pins that I KNOW are being released, the CM's get a look on their face like I just asked them if they carry armed nuclear warheads! We pin collectors know a lot more about what's coming out than they do, which is absurd to me! CM's need to take a look at websites or other media to be informed about their own products so they can better inform guests!
 

i dont expect all cms to be updated on new releases or pin going ons,but if you work in an area of the park that works exclusively with pins then you should know answers to pin related questions.sometimes you get hurt feelings when they give you those looks like your a freak,but i just say to myself just wait until you see a pin you want then you'll be one of us hahaha.
 
I really hope I can get out of school for this event!! Im just confused on how they will do the RSPs. It worries me bc they are such low edition sizes on most of them
 
I saw somewhere that this is going to be an online RSP. So that should mean I can complete the RSP, pay for the pins and just have someone pick them up. That's just to easy. They never make life this simple so I must be wrong. Wish someone would tell us about this event. Why do they call it Event Services when they don't know anything about the events?
 

For online RSPs (if you get selected, many do not), you usually must show ID that you are the person that was awarded the RSP. They usually check that the name on the RSP is the same as the person that appears is the same as the form of payment if by credit card.
 
I really just hope this goes smoothly. Bc I don't think it will if they do wrist bands. I've heard from other traders who have gone to wrist band events, that people cut or "save spots". and when these pins are such a low edition size, I'm really worried. I really hope there's some form of lottery or rsp for this event so it gives us all an equal chance at these really awesome pins
 

i just wnt to know whats gonna happen with this unevent the sooner the better.
 
I hope they make a giant pit in the middle of the two parks, and throw all the pins in there and have everyone just jump in and get them FREE FOR ALL. They could have rabid dogs and saber tooth tigers in there. Gladiator style. That....would...be...awesome. I will go simply for that. Don't really care about the pins lol

Haha it really might come to that for all we know! I know me and my friends (Gillian -tyleet87 and Ashley-chaboo) would be pretty determined to get the pins hahaha

Good luck on the plane ticket. Can anyone tell me why they call it Event Services when they know less than we do?
