I'm going to Toys R Us in Times Square on Friday (tomorrow) to pick up something and I remember seeing a pressed penny machine when I was there a couple weeks ago. (I think it only had one design...?)

* Edit: I did a little research and there's actually several designs available at Toys R Us.
I will also be walking right past Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. and M&M's World.

I know there are a few people who collect these pennies and was wondering if anyone would like me to get some. Or if you know the location of any others in Times Square I can try tracking them down. (As far as I know the Disney Store does not have one...)

I don't collect pressed pennies so if you have any specific instructions please let me know otherwise I'll go through my penny jar and try to find the nicest shiniest pennies I can find to use.

*** I must receive requests by NOON Eastern Time (9 am Pacific Time) tomorrow. ***
Leave comment here or PM me.

Price: 50 cents + shipping (willing to ship US and International)
I've never mailed these before so I'll let those with the experience specify how they want it/them shipped. Theoretically the cheapest shipping would be 45 cents if I put one penny in a regular envelope and shipped it within the US.

I'm also willing to trade for a pin if you want 8+ pressed pennies.

I still wonder why people would collect these odd collectibles?

You know some people would call collecting Disney pins "odd." Everyone likes different things, no need for that.

Akaibara, if you could pick one up for me, I would love to pay for it and I would appreciate it so so much. I just picked up 2 new pressed coin books this past weekend at Tokyo DisneySea and I am ready to fill them up!

My brother used to casually collect pressed pennies whenever we happened to pass by a machine. I never collected them myself (I was a sticker collector and didn't understand the appeal of destroying perfectly good money) but I admit watching the machine was pretty cool. They are a neat little things and now that I know people out there seriously collect them I'll keep an eye out for more machines. :)

So here are the requests I have so far:
- YoSoyAhPuch (x1)
- movingthestars (x1)

Anyone else?
A little over 11 hours to go!

In Disney in Japan, you just put your money into the machine and a plain metal circle falls down and is pressed, so you aren't really pressing a coin... But they are nice and big here, and they have some REALLY cool designs.

Collecting pressed coins in the States is something I have always done with my mother since I was a small child (not just Disney, although Disney is the majority of what we have). We like to look back on our collections and remember what we did. :)

Oh and Akaibara, if you just want to PM me your paypal info when you get done I can "gift" you the money right away.

Oh, that's interesting. I bet that results in nice clean pressings but it also loses the charm of seeing the flattened design of the original coin.

Sure, I'll send you my PayPal info sometime on Saturday.

I decided to do some research and found PennyCollector.com which lists the locations of tons of these machines. It turns out there are actually two machines at Toys R Us with a total of 8 designs available. I'm not sure if I can choose the design or not before pressing. It's been years since I've seen one of these in action. If there's a specific design you want let me know.

I will also be walking right past Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. which has a machine as well as M&M's World. So if anyone wants any pennies from either of these two locations I can quickly pop in as I pass by.

This website is pretty neat. Maybe when the weather is a bit nicer I'll go on a penny run with my brother. I'll let you guys know when we go so we can go penny hunting for you. :)

If those who collect the pressed pennies are interested in looking at my old collection feel free to PM me I would be happy to sell some if you see any that take your fancy. I have tonnes from WDW and even some British attractions. Mainly from London.

YoSoyAhPuch and movingthestars, I'm so sorry for the delay. D:
Toys R Us now closes an hour earlier than it used to and I didn't know that. (I was used to the holiday hours.) I wasn't able to go until last night but I now have your pennies in hand. :)
I will be PM'ing you guys in a few moments.
