Completed Game: Charity Fundraising Game (w/ Free Shipping!) - Prize Picking Time!
I signed up to do the runDisney Princess 5k next year through a charity partner (Boys and Girls Club of Central Florida), since the regular slots were sold out. I've been slow on fundraising and I'm bad at just outright asking people for donations with nothing in return, so I wanted to throw a game to meet my fundraising goal.
This will work just like a normal game, but instead of paying me for your slots when the game fills up, you will be paying the slot fees directly to my charity fundraising page. This way you will know for sure that 100% of the money is going to the charity, and you will also get the tax benefit for your donation if you utilize that. You will then PM me your address and I will pay for shipping out of my own pocket as a thank you for supporting my run.
This game will have 20 spots but 26 prize lots, so even the last person to pick will have a pretty big selection left over.
There will be one grand prize and five consolation prizes (one for each of the last five people in the pick order list, starting with the last person and working up). AND, as an added bonus to celebrate the holidays, one person from the list will be drawn randomly; they will be able to gift a free entry to a DPF user who is not in the game; this bonus user will get to pick -for free - one of the remaining prize lots after everyone who paid for slots has picked. (This free pick is not eligible for the Grand Prize or Consolation Prizes).
_________________________________________
I have to raise $415 to meet my fundraising goal, so each spot will be $21. (I'm sorry, no discount for multiple lots for this one, but the money is going to charity and I tried to keep the slot price as low as I possibly could.)
To play, just post how many spots you want and which number(s). Keep in mind that the winners list is randomized so you will not necessarily get the prize lot of the number you choose (unless it's your turn to pick and you choose that lot). There is no limit to the number of spots you can purchase. Once the spots fill up and payments to my fundraising page are verified, the numbers will be randomized by a mod, and that is the order in which prizes will be chosen.
Time Limits
Once the spots fill up, you will have 48 hours to make your donation. I will pm the link to my fundraising page to all entrants. Any spots not paid for after this time will be opened up to dibs (but you cannot call dibs until I post that the spots are open), and I will leave the dibs open for 24 hours from my post. After 24 hours whatever spots are left will be locked as empty spots, and will be skipped when the randomizer list is drawn whenever a mod is free to run it.
Once prize selection starts, each person has 48 hours in which to choose their prize. You can either post in the thread your selection, or you can pm me a preference list ahead of time if you think you might be unable to get online within your timeframe. If the person whose turn it is does not post within 48 hours, their choice is skipped and the next person can choose. Once the person who was skipped is able to post again, they can hop back in line. (So it's essentially like they are letting one person at a time skip ahead of them until they can choose).
