Hi DPF,
So recently the new PTD's have looked great, (Like the Lilo one recently released!) so I was thinking of starting to collect PTDs.
Some of them have around 8 people trading them (more the older ones) and so they must be quite hard to get!
Is it a good idea to collect PTDs or is it very difficult?
As I live in the UK I cannot go to the soda fountain so this could be a 'hard to get' collection!!! 😀
Oh, and if anyone has a collection of PTDs I would love to see what they look like all together in the pin showroom!

I've been having the same thoughts. I kind of want to collect them, but don't know if it is a good collection to pursue. I live no where near the soda fountain, and they come out pretty regularly, so I wouldn't be able to buy all of them. Too expensive haha
 
We don't know if they're difficult, but one of our friends (Suzziesue) is collecting that series and we saw her lanyard at the pin trading event at DLR and they look really nice together. We're sure when they're all together it will look beautiful!
The older ones, we're sure, are hard to get, but some recent ones might be difficult too (i.e. Rapunzel, Pascal...Belle?)
 
Its hit and miss....they r beautiful...and le 300 but some are not as nice...others are amazing
Iv noticed they always go on ebay as soon as they come out..usually not to far over retail

I live by dsf and get them all the time...i always have extras..and want to trade right away
So if u decide to collect them they arent that hars to get (except tangled)
If u get them quick like the same week thro trade or buy en

They look nice together tho 🙂
 
I am doing the same thing! I only have two ( a third on the way) but I am going to collect the ones that I really like. But keep them all together they are just so cute!!
 
I am trying to collect the PTD pins but I am lucky enough to be only an hour from Disneyland and we do drive to the Soda Fountain a couple times a month. I think the older ones will be harder to get. It's not impossible to get them but not having access to the Soda Fountain will make it more difficult. I wish I had a friend that lives in Hollywood so they can pick me up the pins.

If you do not live about the soda fountain, it will be a very hard collection to do. Lately it seems like there is a new one every day or every other day. I think there were 3 of them just this weekend from what I have seen here. Plus I think they are pricey to just buy, even at the soda fountain and only le 300. Out of my price range.
 
I like them, but I too am in the UK so it's difficult and I refuse to pay crazy inflated prices for them. I would mainly like any lion king ones (for obvious reasons) and the recent stitch one, oh and Kevin when she is released. Soo if anyone can help me, please get in touch 🙂
 
If you like them enough to collect them then I say go ahead and start collecting them, the popularity of them has increased somewhat in the last 6 months or so and I say you need to make sure you are committed as like other have said with being in the UK and either relying on ebay or a forum member will still be pricey and with the amount they are making then it would soon become quite expensive.

As Mushu says - they just popping out the ground...LIKE DAISIES!! thats how I see PTD's

I'm tying to complete. Would love some help with the last few I need! I just got the last Donald I need and the small Stitch koala-bear'ing the ice cream cone thanks to pinpics trades this morning. Need a few more from my signature. I need 14. Forgot to bid today on one I need, happened twice now dang it! Could have been down to twelve.

They are great affordable pins to add to existing collections. With the amount coming out lately, I think it would be difficult to get ALL of them. I feel that way and I live in socal. I get as many as I can of the ones I want, but I'm not trying to get all of them, especially the older ones. They do make a great collection even without being a completest though.

I know Pip will be one of the hardest so I am not afraid to trade something(s) SUPER nice, or even dip into my collection for that one. Just an FYI!

I just ordered my first PTD off eBay today, it's the new Stitch. Unless someone I know lives out there, I think my collection of them will be very small indeed.
 
Thank you so much for all the great advice everyone! It is really helping! I think I might just collect the ones I really like and not have doubles (3 stitch PTDs????) otherwise it will be difficult! Oh and thank you for the pictures of the collections Romancing_Train and markheardjr! They really do look great all together!
