Hello!

I am completely new to this site and still trying to figure it all out. I've been stuck on trying to change my little picture icon for the past couple of days! Either I'm retarded or there is just something I don't get. :) everyone has been very nice to me so far, and it's nice to feel so welcomed. Mind you I don't think I would have expected anything less from a disney related forum. I am a new disney doll collector, like seriously new, last month new. I saw one of the dolls on ebay by fluke and fell in love. I have now spent the last few weeks searching the Internet for reasonably priced dolls, it's like all of a sudden I have an overwhelming sensation that I must own them all! Disney is no stranger to me, I've always joked that I'm the princess they forgot :) and really have never let go of that magical little girl inside of me,no matter how old I get! I'm looking to collect the 17" dolls (no evil counterparts) just the princesses,nov frozen dolls and alice,along with the new disney couple designer line and I'm still on the fence about the vintage looking 2011 designer dolls. I really can't afford to remortgage my house either! Some of these dolls are a fortune! I can hardly even believe it! I have my heart set on them all but signed up to this forum in hopes of finding dolls at better rates, and also getting tips from fellow collectors on how to not miss the sales from the disney store. The newly released tinkerbell slipped through my fingers! I even woke up at 3am, and still managed to come up empty Handed. My husband thinks I'm crazy! Anyhow, if anyone has advice for me, affordable dolls, or any pointers at all id be forever greatful!!!

Welcome! I'm a total newbie at this as well. I recently started collecting the limited edition dolls when they came out with the Fairytale Designer Dolls late last year. I never realized how expensive and addicting it can be. There are a lot of great people on this forum though, and they are very helpful. Good luck in your search! :)
 
Gracias!!! Thank you :) I've only been a member for a little over a week and I feel like I've leaned so much!!! I already feel like I got the hang of things. Thank you so much everyone. I signed on here to hopefully start my disney doll collection. I am hoping to collect all the disney 17" dolls (no villains or men) and then I want all the disney designer fairytale couples along with the tinkerbell that was just released and the first set of animator dolls. I have a long way to go as I only own Snow White designer couple as of right now, but I hope to acquire many over the next few months. My holy grail right now is alice 17" and Snow White but the prices right now are unaffordable and I hope to find a fellow collector who will be able to part with them at a more reasonable rate. Will see :) I'm also hoping for the next disney sale for aurora and maleficent that I'll be fast enough to get them off the disney store directly. Some fellow collectors have given me some great pointers so I'm really hopeful this time a round lol

I am a relatively new collector too buy I absolutely love the Disney dolls.
I dont live in the US or the UK though so it takes lots of patience and dedication to get dolls that I want :)

So far my most prized doll is my 17 inch Rapunzel doll.
I fell in love with Tangled and managed to snag a doll of ebay for not much higher than the original price.
At the time I didnt even know there was a whole range of the dolls being made.

I really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really(think you get the point now lol) want the Alice 17 inch doll.
Sigh, I wont give up. I'm really hoping Ill someday find someone to sell her to me.

Dont worry, we will grow our collections together girl :wavey:

Thank you so much for the lovely message :) I really wish I had signed up to this community ages ago lol but hey, they do say better late then never! :) Do you also collect dolls? Or do you stick to pins? They seem so pretty too! But I have to focus on one aspect for now lol :) What are your grail items :) I guess everyone has some!
 
Hello and welcome to DPF. I don't really collect dolls as much as I do pins, but I do have the Beauty and the Beast designer couples dolls because I thought they were soooo pretty. I also hope to get the Aurora dolls when they are released( I collect Sleeping Beauty and it is the 55th anniversary of the film this year after all), so I hope they are as awesome as I picture them in my mind lol. Good luck on finding Alice and all the rest, I have seen pictures of several of them and they all look so nice. Have fun!

The designer couple beauty and the beast doll is beautiful! ;) I hope to own her too one day! But baby steps for me lol I am also very excited for the release of sleeping beauty and really hope I will catch the sale this time! But will see!!!still waiting for pictures and some news on her release! So fingers crossed will see!!!
