okay, I'm realizing that wants and trades links under DPF names are now linked to DPP (maybe have been for a while). not being on DPP yet I have copied the ID/name and searched PP. today was the first time I couldn't find a name on PP. no account on PP or different ID? also, when it does work, different lists of trades? wants?

dunno, just a little confused I guess. don't mind me, it's still early…..
 
prolly a different ID... and when you find different lists of trades and wants, that prolly means one acct (either DPP or PP) isnt being updated as much as the other.
 
You are going to find that not all DPF ID's will match Pinpics ID's. Many people who were on Pinpics and then joined the Forum, used different ID's. It does make it hard to search sometimes but DPP is being created to replace Pinpics.
 
I just have the dpp Id ....most of the members here definetly have the same ids for both sites ,some do not ,I see you have no links to yours though

Yeah, my pinpics id is/was writerkay, but when I made a DPP account, I figured it might be easier for people to recognize me by my forum name. I rarely use PinPics now, so nothing is updated on that account anyway, in my case at least.
 
Mine is the same on both. I rarely look at, and use even less, pinpics. DPP is the new place to be!!
 
I, too, created my pinpics acct before joining DPF, so when I made a DPP acct, I used the same name as I had for DPF, to make it easier for people
 
I was curious about the change as well. Can I ask what the reason was why they made a new site? Is Pinpics not affiliated with this forum, but the new site is? I just started here, so I joined DPP without a previous PP account. Still need to actually go make my lists, though!

I could be wrong but I believe PinPics prohibited this site from using the links under our usernames. Disney Pin Place was created as an alternative to Pinpics by ethanwa, and allows DPF to do the links under our usernames again. ^.^

And let's not forgot that some of the content being provided for free by members of the site was only available for view if you had a paid subscription to the site... (Namely decent quality pictures.) I couldn't even view my own submitted pictures in anything above 150 pixels or something with paying them money...

Once the site became controlled by profiteering, I was done with it (I likely would have stopped using it when the old site went away anyway, but the money thing sped that up...). Make unique content for paying subscribers, that's fine. But the free database that _WE_ created should always be available for free to everyone...
 
I see now, that's pretty insidious of them to charge for something that many of it's users helped to create.

The DPP site looks great so far, though!
 
I'm the same (ID) everywhere. And I am still an advocate of Pinpics (although I understand different folks' issues and concerns), maybe in the minority anymore. I still rely on Pinpics, enjoy it and hope everything will fall into place. I guess I don't get links until I join DPP. But my lists are searchable on PP under dopeydoc3. I was trying to see what someone was looking for and trading and couldn't find them using their forum ID. :sad:
 
I ended up with different usernames because I made a mistake and forgot I had already joined DPF so when I tried to register I had to change my username. I only added a 1 at the end but I know that makes a difference when searching. :rolleyes:
 
I had markheardjr on DPP in the beta phase, but forgot the password I put in (not my usual, to keep privacy,) and they didn't have a way to change my password yet so I just make markheardjr2. But I haven't been updating DPP very much because it is mostly blocked at my workplace because they are hosted by a server that hosts questionable dating/hook up sites as well.
