Well I was in the Manchester store and we was talking to a Cast Member and we was told (which I thought was a rumour) is that the stores will no longer be selling pins in store and they would be online only.

I for one am quite frustrated at this news as they can not sort out orders and continually half everyones orders for over selling, now with the pins not being in store which would drive more traffic to the online orders which meas they would still oversell pins and still half orders etc. Ever since the Tangled Gondola pin they have had such a poor service in sales and delivery. I do not see how this new change will be the best situation when they cant manage the orders they have now so if they are all online imo they are shooting themselves in the foot.

How do other Ukers feel about this change??

I knew that they had stopped selling them at my nearest Disney Store; which was... frustrating. The site listed the stores that would continue to sell them; I didn't know that all the stores would no longer sell pins though.

Nope all stores now apparently. and In my opinion its those select few who complain to disney with each release that they miss out on pins etc. it only takes a few to spoil it for the rest of us.

Well, there goes the UK pins !!! Although the past couple I didn't even bother trying to get from my friend, I left them for the UKers . Pretty soon, they will stop selling altogether .

The news that Disney will not sell in stores doesnt really bother me at this stage, but that is because the select few stores that were selling pins are just too far away for me to travel to. The only way for me to get pins was online, and I was missing out say about 50% of the time.

With the low editions that Disney have been releasing, it just seemed crazy that they should bother to send three or four pins to each of the selected stores. I certainly would not travel the long distances to a store on the off chance that they may have a pin available. At least this way hopefully nearly all 350 pins will be avalable to purchase online, and not so many will disappear with cast members. I think it's a good idea, and will give more people the chance to get them.

There was a thread about this a couple of days ago on the Facebook group, but it got taken down, as I don't think managers were supposed to be sharing the info yet. Personally, only on a few occassions have I gone to the store to get the pins, ands thats only when I happen to be or want to be in London or Southampton for the day, generally I get them online anyway. I'm guessing that DS are thinking if they make more available online, that will fix all the problems of overselling, but it most likely won't, but other than a large rehaul of the site, I can't see how they could fix the site for the problems to go away. Since this will be the first one for complelety online only, I'm going to wait and see what happens with this one before judging the decision too hard. I will also say that generally, when I've been to stores to get the pins, they've had 10+ pins in store, only once has there been 4 pins in a store, and that was the Tangled Gondola, so as far as I can tell, store stock quantities themselves haven't really been a problem, but possibly more with the quantity people have been buying, eg. stories of CMs putting them aside for themselves before opening or eBay sellers doing multiple orders online and then sometimes buying them in store as well (although this is all stories and speculation, so I can't confirm this).

Very very sad!!! I am running out of good pins to trade as well lol if I only get one pin on order (which will happen if they stop pin on store) I won t have much pins to trade lol
Surely Disney can come up with a better alternative!!!!

Let's face it guys this has been on the cards for a while, the last 4 releases have been a complete mess with orders being cut, cancelled etc etc. Bearing in mind that some pins have been held back to fulfill the amount of online orders only goes to reduce the amount of pins available in select stores, this only backs up the decision to stop pins being sold in stores. Of course this does not help those traders who live miles away from a store etc BUT hopefully it may reduce the online ordering issues by making the pins available from only one source - I just hope that the online system can cope with the demand.

I have visited both my local stores on a couple of occasions, no pins have been on sale for some time in either (one of them being Lakeside - a select store!), add to this the distinct lack of in store pin trading with CM's only adds to the issue & seemingly, as this has not taken off Disney have made quite a simple decision & the solution is online pin sales only. Take a look through the archives on this forum just to see how long this has been happening - months!

No doubt numerous people have complained about the way orders have been handled etc by Disney & as such probably helped them make the decision. To me it doesn't really matter as I do not collect those pins being released, the pins available are nice trading ammunition for UK traders or nicely ebayable for a quick profit due to their LE size & also due to the demand from overseas traders/collectors wanting to add them to their own collections etc. No doubt this will continue!

GhostInTheSnow;162488 I will also say that generally said:
Which area do you live in? Every release, I phone round the South East/London based stores to see whether its worth making a trip, I am always told that they have at most 3 or none at all! I've also had cast members complain to me that they didnt get the chance to buy one themselves. So who's nabbing them? Disney staff further up the chain?

I'm from Portsmouth. If I'm heading to anything else in London, I will get in before 9am to be at Oxford Street for opening, or I will head to Southampton for opening if I want to confirm I get a pin (which I have only done once with the Gondola, since I was getting one for a DPF member). As I said, there are only stories of this happening, which I have heard from other traders, I cannot confirm this, but considering the amount of the new releases which are found on eBay on release day with "guarenteed pin in hand" the only way for any one to have an online release in hand on release day would be somebody from the Dispatch Warehouse/HQ. Again, I can't confirm this, but am basing this off of discussions from on here, the UK Pin Trading Facebook Group, and talking to other traders.

I doubt the people saying they had them in hand actually did as they wouldnt use the stock art if they did, also they could have paid for next day delivery so they knew why might have the pins the saturday so listed them as saying in hand as they knew they would have then soon. I dont know but I doubt they had them.

Question is - why is it the exact same people selling the pins on ebay immediately after or on the day of release? It is not just one pin though, these sellers sell 4+ of the same pin. One seller sold 10 of the Stitch & Angel Valentines pin. I'd tend to agree with GhostInTheSnow albeit unproven

No more LE150 for the time being

I read this as well & just my opinion that it makes sense to run off 350 pins & satisfy demand (cheaper cost per pin to press) than continue to release LE150's at a higher cost & create even more disappointment from customers not receiving orders etc. At this moment in time it is obvious from the words that Disney want to take a step back & look at the whole release shambles & try to satisfy customers immediately.

As for the comments about in store trading - i'll have to bite my lip! This has been terrible from the off!

btw Fox & Hounds is now sold hour after one hour!!
