DPF 10th Anniversary - Bonus Giveaway #3 - WINNERS POSTED ON #4
Our entrance into pin trading started about two and half years ago now. However, since 2000, friends and family had been giving us pins as presents for one holiday or event or another thing! So we had a variety of Disney pins, but didn't know about trading or ever had traded. We haven't been to a Disney park in about 20 years ago. However, about 2 1/2 years ago, our Gramma took us to Disney Springs while we were down there visiting her (she described it so that we envisioned a strip mall of Disney-themed stores ---- were we shocked when we arrived and were told that from where we entered, it would be a 7 minute solid walk to the World of Disney store! Well, we saw pins during that afternoon, and Sis and I saw the super cute reversible Chip and Dale lanyards. We went back to gramma's and ordered them so that they'd be home by the time we flew back. Then we bought a lot of C&D pins to start . . . and when we went back to visit Gramma months later . . . we were armed with all our pins! Now, whenever we visit Gramma, we go with every pin we have, other than the absolute keepers (which are growing more and more these days!).
What did that set look like? The one from 1985.Great Bonus Game, Great memoeies, makes Good Times!
Thank you Booger 1964
I'm guessing my habit(oops hobby) started in 1985 during Disneyland's anniversary giveaway! Each time you entered they gave you a pin! Since we had an AP, that accounted for the collecting to complete the set. After that I mostly found buttons that were sold, and only found pins for major events/holidays.
Unfortunately I didn't get into trading till 2009 with CMs which really changed my perspective on pins! That's when I found out what I had been missing over the years, and all the wonderful pins I didn't Get!
Sorry for the late response. The pins were of each land/theme area, some had duplicate designs, Frontierland had 2 due to the 1st had a pointed end so it needed a redesign for protection. What did that set look like? The one from 1985.
