Open DPF Anniversary Game: "What Year Did You Join?"

2017 for me (I had to look at my profile as well). Memories include A) hearing about this site many years earlier when I did a PinPics trade with DocFish2U and then letting him know when I finally joined, B) My first auction where I don't recall what I auctioned but do remember the winning bid was the Moana set that cam out that same year and it was bid by a member that became a good friend of mine, C) the amazing long and different games @CanaDaLE ran with things like puzzle solving, photo treasure hunts, song writing, etc., and D) the "photos of pets" game that @MerlinEmrys ran that gave me the chance to flood everyone with photos of Cocoa (as if I wasn't already doing that at the time.)
 
Had the check but it looks like I joined in June 2015.

I remember that @CanaDaLE hosted a really fun pin game a few years back. In it, there was an activity where you needed to make a comic with your character. Any characters you included that were not yours would deduct a point from others in the game. It was such a fun mashup!

That's an awesome drawing.

Those friendly sporting opportunities in Canadale's games to knock others back a point and trash talk each other were so fun. I especially enjoyed the one where we had to write a song to the tune of You're Welcome. I was playing as Maleficent and here's mine.

2020… couldn’t remember when I joined. This account started out as a family account with my mom being the founding member (which explains the birthday and age) but I’ve taken over and just never changed the profile info. One of my favorite things to look for on the Forum is people’s hauls. I see so many fun pins I never would have seen in person had it not been for that sharing thread!! I also really appreciate everyone freely sharing knowledge.
 
Hiya! I can fill in a missing year. I joined in 2019! I don't need a prize, but here's my story.

Sis and I heard about this forum through PinPics, and she joined a bit before me. I think my very favorite memory was @CanaDaLE's Summer 2020 game. Sis and I played under one entry (there were lots of people playing then) and had so much fun at a time when things were very stressful. The two most memorable things were:

The Household Scavenger Hunt - Instead of just getting things from around our house, we decided to have my American Girl doll do it in her house. Talk about a girl who has everything! We made a whole photo story for it, because I was running a very active doll blog at the time. Here's the link to it, even! Raito's Visit (Pt 3): A Household Scavenger Hunt

Alternate Lyrics - And there was a challenge to write alternate lyrics to your own choice of a Disney song. Since we were only playing under one name, we only "needed" one song. Our player name was KEVIN, so Sis wanted a song written to the Zorro theme. We stayed up way late with a flashlight working on lyrics. And we did a bonus one for my character of choice -- Baby Yoda (he didn't have an official name back then). That song was written to Beauty and the Beast. And there was an additional challenge that if you wrote lyrics including as many other game players as you could, everyone got a point or or something like that. I don't quite remember, but I did a song that included everyone in the game. That took an extra day to come up with, because it was a lot!! You had to post a recording of you singing the song to enter, too. I ended up doing the singing, because Sis just about croaked at the thought of that. :kevin:

. . . [time elapsed] So, I went digging into a very old YouTube account and found the quick recording that I had made at the time to post for the entry of the song lyrics! We didn't have a video camera at the time, so I had to use the video feature on my point-and-click Cybershot that only has a teeny microphone on the back -- hence the odd film. 🙂 That was my only Baby Yoda plush, at the time. Hahaha! My how things have changed!!

I joined DPF in 2010, in the first month of its operation, which makes me a Charter Member. I came over here when Dizpins closed its proverbial doors in 2010, where I had been extremely active since 2003 (I started pin trading in 2002), and found my new pin trading 'home.'

I absolutely loved and miss the murder games. Unless you've played them, you wouldn't believe how much time was lost posting, analyzing the games for clues, and cackling like a lunatic at the absolute absurd antics of the other players. I'm not even joking; if I was in the middle of a game, I would literally be in the middle of WDW or DLR, but I still would be glued to my phone, on DPF, refreshing the site, checking to see if enough people or the 'right' person posted so I could post again.

If you don't know what they are/were, let me know and I'll explain. If the interest is there, I would be willing to try to bring them back.

I would LOVE the murder games to come back! I think I only had the chance to participate in one but they were so entertaining! 🤣😆 I don’t know if I would have time to contribute a whole lot, but I have a feeling the members we have here would make it loads of creative fun 😍
