I keep forgetting to take photos while I'm home, so I'm posting my entry now and will add photos of my actual pins later (if I remember before the deadline!
)
1. Favorite Mystery Box Pin
Pin 129549 DLR - Channel 28 Limited Edition Mystery Pin Collection – Cel Rescue Rangers
I grew up on Disney Afternoon, and Rescue Rangers is one of my favorite side collections! I'm still on the hunt for the other Rescue Rangers pin from this set, but I was excited to pull this one from the two boxes I purchased as I don't often have the best luck with mystery boxes.
2. Favorite Mystery Bag Pin
Pin 131973 WDI - Sword In The Stone - Wizards Dual - Green Dragon Madam Mim - Chaser
One of my favorite scenes in any movie is the wizard's duel scene from Sword in the Stone. The transformations from that scene were my most wanted pin set, so I was ecstatic that Disney actually made them! I went with the Merlin as a Germ pin specifically since I was hoping that they would find a way to incorporate it, and they did! (Though I think it would have been funnier if they went with just a plain blue background and no visible character.)
3. Favorite Pin That Was Gifted To You
Pin 131062 DS - September 2018 Park Pack – Sword in the Stone - Transformations - Version 1
@LittleBird generously gifted this pin to me, which allowed me to finish the Sword in the Stone park pack set.
4. Favorite Pin You Splurged On/ Grail Pin
Too many pins for the good of my bank account! But if I have to choose one, I'd go with this:
Pin 131796 WDI - Robin Hood 45th Anniversary - Character Cast - Super Jumbo
AKA The Dinner Plate!
5. Favorite Limited Edition Pin
Pin 128261 WDI - Heroines - Judy
They did SUCH A GOOD JOB with this pin. It is so pretty, and her expression is spot on, and I love that it's a unique pose for Judy as the majority of her pins are the same few pieces of artwork.
6. Favorite Pin From A Monthly Release
Pin 132650 Robin Hood 45th Anniversary - Robin
Disney NAILED IT with Robin Hood and Sword in the Stone last year. All of the pins came out so pretty and on-point!
7. Favorite International Pin
Hmm...this one's hard since so many of my Inside Out/Zootopia pins come from overseas. But I'll go with this, which I was able to secure a trade for last year:
Pin 84233 JDS - 110th Legacy Collection - Robin Hood and Prince John
It's the LE110 version from Japan.
8. Favorite Completed Pin Set
Ooh, man! So many awesome sets came out last year! But I have to go with the WDI Wizard's Dual set, for the sheer amount of pins in the set, the size and artwork of the pins themselves, and the fact that it's been my most wanted theme for a set for years!
9. Favorite Pin That Started A Collection
So, I don't consider this starting a new collection persay (I didn't start any new from-scratch collections), but I was able to expand my Bolt collection just a tad outside of PTDs to include Mr. Carrot since they actually made pins with him on it besides just the DLP My Dog series pin.
Pin 131242 WDI - Film Strip - Bolt 10th Anniversary
Look at him, all carroty and smiley.
10. Favorite Pin From Your Main Collection
The majority of the above are from my main collections!
But one of my favorites that I haven't used yet is this:
Pin 130025 WDI - Heroes - Robin Hood
The Hero Profile series has been really hit-or-miss IMO, but Robin is one of the really exceptional ones.
11. Favorite Pin From A Side Collection
Pin 128142 WDI - Character Cluster - The Rescuers Down Under
I love that they gave RDU some pin love this year, and this pin especially makes me laugh since it makes it seem as if Jake is the star of the movie (and rightly so!
) by putting him front and center! Plus, Marahute! <3
12. Favorite Pin That Doesn't Fit Into Your Collection But You Had To Have
As far as I can remember, I didn't collect any non-collection pins this year, so I'll go with the last one I remember getting, which is from 2017.
Pin 123473 WDW – Love is an Adventure 2017 – Love is Teamwork: Hiro and Baymax
I don't collect anything related to Big Hero 6, but this pin reminded me so much of my nephew (this basically became his catchphrase for months after the movie came out) that I had to get it.
