HELLO,

I am brand new to Disney pins and trading. Started in January when i took my kids to WDW and now I am hooked! Love Stitch, American Flags, Princesses and Ciderella's Castle. Never traded and not sure how this goes. Also want to learn how to tell Real Macoy vs fakes.

Well, just very happy I found this site and Can someone tell me how to get started.

Thanks

Aloha and Welcome! :wavey:

You've asked for advice on how to get started and I think you're off to a terrific start already. You've selected a few themes that you'd like to collect and I'd strongly recommend that you stay with those. If you let your collection expand too much, you'll find yourself with a room full of shiny pieces of metal and a third mortgage on your house. However, don't feel that you must be a completist and collect every single pin that falls into the themes that you collect. Some of the themes you have chosen - especially Stitch and Princesses - are quite large and can be difficult to collect if you decide to be a completist. I would recommend that you just collect the pins that you like; IMO, when it comes to your collection, a 'good' pin is one you love and makes you happy, it's just that simple.

I see that you've also signed up for Pin Pics and have your account information listed - terrific. That will make it so much easier for you to trade with people. Excellent start. Just don't forget to keep your wants and trades list up to date as you make trades or acquire pins.

If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask them. Remember that even the most experienced trader was new to pins at one point. If you don't ask the questions, you'll never learn. Most importantly, don't forget to have fun!

I hope his helps and, again, welcome!

Thank you- Yes I realize in a short time that you can spend a small fortune. I purchased most my items from Ebay without knowing that there were other alternatives. So now that I am here I will gain some knowledge before I purchase. Can you tell me how to add your wants and trade under the avatar and any information on editing your profile?

Nice to meet you

Rich

hi rich, ahhhh a new yorker, jersey girl here. The trading is pretty easy, as you can see it is linked to your pin pics acct and matches your pins to others. You add/remove pins through your pinpal acct. On a busy trade/purchase day i have both screens open at all times. hope to trade soon

Thank you all for the Welcome's I am already enjoying the site and look forward having some fun with the hobby.
