:anxious:Hi there, I have been on the boards here for a few years and finally have time to update my introduction.
I am lucan444 , I have been trading pins for about 9 yrs now, I am an annual passholder here at WDW, I have been for about 8 yrs now, I am also a DVC member <about 4yrs> and am a pin addict!!
I collect Villians, mostly first and second tier<Villian Classics 6, ie Maleficent, Cruella,Hook,Churnabog,Evil Queen/Old Hag> and Nuveu Villians< Hades,Scar, Jafar, Ursulla,Gaston> Jessica only<dont need that stuttering Rabbit messing my visuals> and 20000 leagues, <Gods rest the greatest ride in Mouse House history!!>
I currently live in Davenport Fl, just 15 min from WDW <hence the shadow of the castle!>and can be found trolling for pins at any of the 4 parks or the resorts themselves about 2 times a month!!
I share my addiction with my partner and her two kids<although the kids dont see the big deal, pins arent video games, so not thier speed!>our dog, Luke<who is a Beagador, part Beagle, part Labrador, all mouth and some 'tude too!!>
I think the two greatest things we can do with our hobby is help each communicate, and educate. While in previous jobs I have worked as a caster of jewelry I do have a bit of inside knowledge about pins both in actual construction and in astethitics. Sometimes this may be a good thing sometimes its not, but I do have more than a passing idea about what a knockoff <or scrapper > is !!! As well as understanding that dye lots for paint and laquer are different .
I understand that sometimes we dont say what we mean or say more than we mean, in trading thats the biggest boo boo we can do, not be clear and to the point!!!
Many times I have heard or seen traders gettin very upset not because of something someone did maliciously or upfront but out of miscommunication.
The debate and the subsequent hurt feelings could all be avoided if we just talked!!
Off the soapbox,,,, I also enjoy Food and Wine Fest, Star Wars weekends, wish that Mickey would build a real rollercoaster, and Toy story the ride, Sum of all thrills,
The Art stores<would that I was a billionare and I would have all the art!!>
Lastly I guess I love pin trading, the art, the hunting, the challanges,
as I recently told another guest while standing around waiting for HIS kids to trade pins with me, "there are much worse hobbies, Im not out late at night, I get out into the air and exercise<most of my pin trips involve about 10 miles of walking> and hey for 100$ you can get quite a few pins, See how much 100$ buys you at the electronics store??"
So check out my trades list , it changes two or three times a month!! I hope to hear from you, I would love to trade with you, and if you see me running around the parks,
ask me what I found today!!????
