Hello everyone!

Just another new pin collector here. In October of 2012 I enjoyed a visit to Disneyland in Southern California, and while it wasn't my first trip to the park by far, it was my first time I seriously looked at pins. I must have stopped at every pin booth I passed just to looked. And while I only walked away buying a couple of pins, and didn't actually do any trading with cast members, I think the collecting bug had bitten.

Currently I am just currently gathering information on the hobby and learning all that I can. Things I am hoping to learn about are reference links/info on what pins are out there, a good news source for upcoming/new pins, how best to trade pins with other collectors, meet ups for pin collectors, and references on where to buy pins online (because sadly my schedule doesn't allow me to visit Disneyland all the time at the moment). Hoping DPF will be a good place to accomplish those goals.

I currently work as a Mortician here in CA, and in my free time I enjoy coin collecting/coin roll hunting, playing video games, writing fiction, and doing charity work trough multiple groups in my area.

Looking forward to getting to know more about the hobby.

yay welcome! pin trading with CMs is really fun but make sure you're trading a pin you don't really care bout--lots of CM's pins are counterfeits or scrappers. I hope your schedule allows you to visit dlr in the near future

Ooooh yeah, research is good! Wish I had researched when I first started >_< But I'm also one of the people who isn't killed when I find out I've got a fake - some are cute enough to be keepers, and what I keep isn't going to harm the pin trading community DPF is a really great place to safely trade pins! I had a lot of fun starting out here by lurking on the sales and pin games page... People are always selling pins I didn't know I needed until I saw them for the first time! And what can I say, pin games are a great way to get pins for trading OR for keeps. Just the luck of the draw But wherever you look on DPF, there's so much feedback for forum users, it's really nice to know that you'll be reliably trading/acquiring pins Have fun!!!
