Help! Paypal shipping troubles
Oh that's really annoying! On my account I'm the account holder but it's my mom's credit card linked on there, do you know whose ID I need to give?We went through this months ago. It is a new security thing that they are working on rolling out. You will have to present them with scans of SS card or passport or photo id, etc. Mom actually called and spent a couple of hours with a nice young man on the phone and got around having to scan images that you have to send across the highly-unsafe internet! Eventually, there will be no choice. Wish I had better news!
Don't give out anything yet. Call Paypal. Verify. See if you can get around it if possible. Be sure it's not some weird pop-up set to steal your info.Oh that's really annoying! On my account I'm the account holder but it's my mom's credit card linked on there, do you know whose ID I need to give?
Definitely. Maybe some other place I'd give it but I don't really trust anything founded by Elon Musk with my info.Don't give out anything yet. Call Paypal. Verify. See if you can get around it it possible. Be sure it's not some weird pop-up set to steal your info.
Me personally, if Paypal asks that of me, I'd look for another way to do it. Even if it means paying full price USPS. The fewer companies/sources that I give that kind of info to, the better. All of our info is out there SO much already, I don't want to add to it if I can help it.

From a Mom's perspective. Talk to your Mom and let her know what is going on. I'm sure you probably already have.Oh that's really annoying! On my account I'm the account holder but it's my mom's credit card linked on there, do you know whose ID I need to give?
Paypal is basically like a bank, they store people's money, they try to keep your money secure, you might eventually have to scan your State ID or driver's license (I would pick that method over any other). You want a PayPal account, because even if there are other alternatives, overall I feel the safest using them to send money online. It may be just pins for now, but it could be other shopping, or something eventually you'll need/want to use it.
I don't advise you make burner accounts, because if they catch you making multiple accounts to get around stuff, then they'll block you permanently. You don't want that.
We will avoid that thenOoh, that's a good point! When you put it that way, you may be flirting with bank fraud type activity. Like Omi, I don't know the exact practices, but for real banks, most are backed by the FDIC, so fake accounts would be a federal offense. That would be bad.
