Hidden Mickey Nubs

Is there a way to tell good Hidden Mickey from a ZipLock HM. Dips and Scratches are always a sign but how about older CM Lanyard Pins. One Nub, Two Nubs or no Nubs at all?
It seems Disney is releasing the Older Lanyard Series again and would like a way to tell them apart. Thanks
