So, can anyone give me the low down on them? The wife and I have several that we traded for in WDW just because we like the pins. But are they rare? Are they considered cool? What's the big deal about them etc. If there even is a big deal lol.

Thanks

Hidden Mickeys are the pins that you can only get by trading with cast members at first, and then later they are sold in mystery packs. A lot of people try to collect all of them or just certain sets. I love them, but it can be hard to collect them because there are a lot of scrappers and fakes of Hidden Mickeys that people buy on ebay and trade in the parks. Because of that some people won't bother with them. Most are considered to be not very valuable, but that's okay with me because it gives my kids some pins to collect that I can afford, lol. The ones with popular characters can be good traders though and they are all pretty sought after when they are first released.

Cool. We just really like them lol. Also, one of the cast members said that if another cast member has a hidden mickey or a good pin, they sometimes put it on their lanyard backwards....like facing against their body. Anyone see that?

Yes it's called a mystery pin,you can trade for it ..usually a le,rack or hm could be under it ,I always trade for. Those and had good luck doing so

They usually do that as a "mystery" pin. It's not necessarily a good pin, but it's like a game they play with pin traders and it strikes up conversation. And you can always trade it away with another cast member if you don't like it once you get it.

Hi there and welcome to dpf there isn't a lot of hidden mickey collectors as there are a lot of fakes scrappers even becarefull on ebay as there are even scrapper pins on there too hope this helps

Hello and welcome!

It's cool that you like Hidden Mickey pins - as others have said, just be careful with them! I like a few Hidden Mickey's myself, and have had a heck of a time trying to find authentic versions online. Probably a good idea to check out the various threads on here about scrappers and counterfeits, to maybe check your own collection just in case.

Hidden Mickeys/Cast Lanyard pins can be a good way of getting into the hobby, there are interesting sets that have been in years past. That said, most have counterfeited so most don't bother unless it just got released or they really like the pin. An interesting fact is the Magic Kingdom has every Cast Lanyard/Hidden Mickey(not including gwp/pwp completers) released since the early 2000's all showcased inon large poster frames by year...
