I am curious about something again... Last curiousity question involved how big your collections were...

I am starting to realize that the sickness is not in how many pins you have in your collection, but in our ever increasing justification to spend more and more on any single pin or set of pins...

As years go by, the need to get those pins that are special to you has caused you to open that wallet... many times for most of us... So here is the question...

How much is the most you ever spent on a single pin or set of pins??? Also if this need to buy these "small pieces of artistic wonder" has ever caused tension between you and those around you???

I am pretty sure I am not as sick as some of yourselves... but I am getting there...

As far as single pins ... Thats easy to answer, we missed the first year of the PoMH pins so we have spent as much as $170 on a single scene... over $100 on many others... probably because of you guys raising the E-Bay bids on me...lol

My wife has been a trader longer then myself, so the sickness gets worse with little tensions about it...

most I have spent was $90 on the laundry hero stitch in my signature that isn't x'd off (haven't gotten a chance to edit my signature) I try not to buy that many pins...the most I have spent at one time was over $200 at disneyana events this will probably change in 2 weeks when I go to WDI

I've bought 3 pins that were between $30-$35. My most expensive set, was the Designer Princess set, but I only paid retail, but that was $200. I bought a framed set at the Epcot event once, but also retail $125.

Sometimes, I've thought about if I would be willing to pay $50 or $100 on one pin, and I always end up thinking I'd rather have multiple non-grail pins than one grail pin. But I know lots of people would rather have a collection of grails than lesser pins.

I think mine was a DA Stitch and was about £35.
If it ever came to it, I think the most I would pay is no more than £50-60 :)

Ha - has it created tension? ;)

Not anymore! Tee he he - now I'm dating someone I met through a trade and we're loving the pin life. =)

My xxy was over the other day and I had a bunch of pins on the counter that Coach and I were oohing and ahhing over...xxy just shook his head and laughed with us. If you don't get the addiction, you just don't get it.

I thought that exact thing then that total went out the window.I said Id never pay more than $165 again after the DSF surprise ellie badge..then came the St paddy LE100 which cost me $180 and said thats it..then PTN Stitch and now PTN Tink... I swear I cant help myself lol damn me for wanting VHTF pins :P

My most expensive single pin to date was $75.00 and that was a non pass up deal . Beast to Prince Transformation Disney Auction Limited Edition to 100 pins .
I bought a pin picture for $199.95 at the Trade City Event . I thought all the pins were LE 50 . I recently took the picture apart and sold the pins separately only to find out that only one pin was LE 50 . At least I got most of my money back . I won't make that mistake again .

300 for my haunted mansion pin set. But for one pin $60 for the classic D small world.. But i spent my car saving account to build my classic D collection over 600 dollars..

Oh wow! That is unbelievable that you had to put that much into the classic d set!! I am lucky I started from the beginning and got all the pins as they came out. Phew!

The most Ive spent on one pin is £157 (dollar equivalent $237), it is a LE25, and is one of my favourite pins - Pinocchio with the doll marionette.

Love it!! My husband hates my pins, cant talk to him about it - but then I hate his cycling, and when he watches it I leave the room! In hindsight I should have married a pin enthusiast, but then if I had, I'd probably be broke now!! LOL!

I'm developing a condition I will call " Pin Price Amnesia", but I do remember buying the latest D23 train pin set in Feb. And it cost...oh, no! I can't remember!!!

I have that very same disease. When my hubby sees a new pin in my bag he no longer asks the price since I always say "I don't remember." but lately I've been saying - that pin isn't new, I've had it a while. What he doesn't know if that having it a while is anything longer than 10 minutes:)

Well, My most expensive single pin that I've purchased was only $11 or so. However, I'll be dropping $800 on a group of pins in about 10 minutes. YIKES!
