How do you value your pins?

I mean it SAYS sold, but if it was actually sold at that price or if someone is just inflating prices is the hard part with people valuing pins based on what it says online. I noticed on ebay it will say the price listed and sold but if you look at the details it will say the seller took the best offer and it won't say how much that was.

It is really hard to tell whether it’s legit or not. I had an experience on eBay when I sold a beanie boo (another addiction 😂) and I was super excited because it unexpectedly started going higher than I was expecting. But I soon realized I was an unwilling party in shill bidding. The item ended looking like it sold for $1250 when in reality the buyer stiffed me and I ended up eventually taking much much less for it down the road ($75)

So if that was someone upping the price just to make it look like it was going for it, it was a disappointment for me but also a reminder that the sold price doesn’t always tell the whole story.

Yeah, see knowing that kind of thing can happen has made me so wary when people immediately jump to say a pin is valued at whatever the bay last says it was sold for.

It used to happen a lot with pins. I'm not sure how much it is still happening. I agree that you have to be cautious using it as a source.
