Confession: I've been lurking for 2 days already and finally decided to post an intro. :wavey:

My name is Morgan and we live in the Austin area, which is pretty cool except that it is equally far from both Disney park cities!

I have two young daughters and the three of us started a very small Pin collection during our visit in July 2012. (My husband opted out! lol)

We are now planning to visit Disneyland in August and I have once again been pulled into collecting these magical bits of brass. I am so thrilled to have found this forum and the wealth of collective knowledge you all share! I found the forum through a Google search about the Park Pack Pin Trading boxes. (I've purchased all three months thus far) I still need some guidance identifying "scrappers" and"fakes." (I looked at our collections this morning and realized that I think we have several fakers in our collection. )

I haven't identified which collections I will actually attempt to complete yet. Still getting acclimated to all the terms, runs, series, LEs, etc...

So, any bits of advice for novice collectors are most welcome! Please link to any particularly useful threads, and special "Thanks!" to the admins and moderators for a lively and active forum site. :bigthumb:

Thank you for the welcomes! I feel like this may be a very expensive hobby! Mostly because I think of all pins as keepers, so far.

yep....I used to own a mansion, Ferrari and never had to go to work because of all my riches. I then found Disney pin collecting. Now I live in a cardboard box under a bridge but I do have a bicycle for transportation. I have to beg for money everyday but boy do I have a nice Disney pin collection....:naughty::lol:

That about sums it up. :) :) :)
