Lol... true... Collin firth... :rofl:...you never know... Isnt he british?.. this is a pin site though... It'd be odd to go to a pin meet and be someone completely different...
 
He's very British. And yes it would be odd, but amusing none the less. People are strange, and I would think it odd too if I showed up on a date and couldn't find who I was looking for because he was a completely different guy...anyway I'm off on a tangent.

Lol... Once that happens you know it's better to pay the extra cash for the dating websites that check backgrounds... :x:
 
I think I'm just going to steer clear and close my account, after only 2 days I've found them to be not worth it. And while I have nothing against lumber jacks there are an overwhelming amount of men in Oregon who dress like they are out there chopping down trees for a living.

Lol... No problem.... Just remember there are an awful lot of trees in Oregon :p, maybe it's what's in... It's not LA, we're you have a choice...lol... I hope it works out... I need to go to bed, this turned into a fun thread after a while... Let's hope I can charm my way into some trading..
 
This is exactly how I feel at the moment. Cause I am in the UK it costs me more to buy a pin to trade than to just buy the pin off of ebay. I personally am just sacking in the trading, once my traders are gone I am not doing it any more I am just gunna be a collector. I did have some fun doing trading and have met lots of loverly people but it just costs me more to buy the trading pin to trade for the pin I want than to just buy the pin out right. I'm in the same boat as you as well, being that I have onlly been trading / collecting for just over a year and a half I don't have any of the big hitters and I don't live near ANY parks to go out the day of release and get the hot new releases (podms, marquees etc) If I did, I would carry on trading but it sucks being unable to trade for pins I reallyREALLY want because I don't have the PODM, marquee, or what ever that everyone wants!

Plus I just feel disgruntled that I can't trade for anything off my wants list any more, the pins I have basically suck and no one will trade me for anything I want.

So yeah I know how you feel and I feel for you.
 
OK, so before I crawl into bed I had a thought, what about signing up for a swap? Yeah, you might not get a pin that you want, but sometimes it's nice just to get a package in the mail. Maybe that will help you feel like you're a part of the trading community.
 
I know how you feel...I live in the UK, and I only just started trading so I have nearly no good traders, as I only buy for my collection most of the time as I'm on a sad little student budget! :lol: I get so jelly when people are buying all these fabulous pins on here! :P I have no sources for cheap traders other than eBay, which I don't use very much... when I do make trades, it's always for UK LE pins, which can get pricey if you're trading more than one or two... I guess that is my fault for going OTT though, haha! :) So don't give up, just be thankful you're in the US, and it isn't £3.30 (about $6) to send one pin to someone! :lol: I would be just a collector, but I do trades too, as I meet very kindhearted and genuine people on this forum... it really brightens my day when someone goes above and beyond to make someone else happy! :) That's what the trading community is all about <3
And if you ever see anything on my traders, PM me and we can probably work something out! :)

I only live 2.5hrs away from the park and I feel your pain. It can be tough I know. I started about the same time you did so I guess there's a wall period for everyone.
 
Combat dare, I will be at PTN this coming Friday at WDW, I'm also planning to go on the 12-13 of July, so if you need anything picked up, please let me know, I'd be more than happy to do so. I would just need payment ahead of time.
And don't worry, it will happen.
maybe invest in a few of the PODMs and do a few auctions with them.

This is why I am selling all of my traders and just buying what I want to collect. I found myself buying all these pins that I didn't even really like just so I could try to trade them, then I'd get stuck with them. I also know that I don't have to have everything right when it comes out and if I wait long enough I can find a GREAT deal!

I sometimes feel stressed by my slow moving collection and not being anywhere near any of the Disney parks etc. But don't give up, you're not alone! You have two pins on my wants list, maybe we can work out a trade at some time? :)
 
Thank you all for the positive support, I'll be around here and there :p... Just taking a step back and try not to focus on this so much... It's been a hell of a ride...lol.... I would like however to say that if anyone goes to pick of podms or hot trading pins and was willing to pick a few extra for me to up my odds that would be awesome... I do plan on making it to pin trading nights hopefully and I will be at the parks at least twice in the upcoming months... Once again thanks!
 
In my Hard Rock pin collection, I am missing just two holiday pins (one Valentine pin from Key West and one St Patricks Day pin from Chicago) to complete my set of all of the holiday pins (New Years, Valentines Day, St Patricks Day, Easter, Halloween and Christmas) released by all of the cafes from 1998 to 2000 (thats over 1500 pins) - both came up on the auction site a few months ago and I missed out with several last second bids...but I keep trying...you should too!

Deja Vu...I recall posting this as a response to someone that became disheartened awhile back (without the auction addition)...maybe on the dizpins board...
