A member on the forum contacted me in regards to a trade just recently . They wanted to start collecting Beloved Tales collection . Stated please look at my traders to see if I have anything of interest . The first pin I spotted was Stitch with Dalmations and LE 1000 for an LE 300 . I do not collect Stitch but thought it was cute and would have kept it . That evening I checked again and the member had put it back in their collection . Ok, no biggie . The second one I saw was Stitch reading to Eeyore with Ducklings another LE 1000 . So I PMd this member and mentioned the fact that they placed the Dalmation pin back in their collectio, but they said the Stitch Eeyore pin was available . I stated fine I will trade you for that one . I had mentioned with The Stitch Dalmation I may have been able to get my BT BATB or one of my other BATB wants or LATT wants . I asked for their address as we had agreed on Stich/ Eeyore for the pin they wanted . The next day I get a PM stating if you can get a BT BATB for that pin , I don't think I'll trade . I responded I never said that about the Stitch/ Eeyore, but that I POSSIBLY could have with the Stitch/Dalmations . Now isn't that what trading is all about , if someone wants something you don't have, you try to trade for a pin you may be able to get for with one of your wants . I had the BTs already bubble wrapped and placed in a bubble envelope . Isn't it pin etiquette that one you have both agreed, it's a trading contract that should be followed through with . I'd like dance cats or Grim to PM me and I will let you know the members name . What does others think of this ? Fair or Unfair !

I won't say that I think it's quite unfair, but not very nice. I think the final agreement to a trade would be exchanging of addresses and mention of when the pins will be sent. I don't think it's very pin trader friendly that they did this though and probably would question trading with them in the future. That's just what I would do though. Sure it is very disheartening and I'm sorry this happened. If only all pin trading transactions ran smoothly.

Definitely not very nice, I never wrap anything up till addresses are exchanged and trade is 100% a go I have had several trades fall through before an address was exchanged so I tend to just wait until they are before moving forward. With that said could you PM the user and what exactly the trade was for maybe they just had second thoughts since both of the mentioned stitch pins are about the same or better than some BTs

Well it sounds like a verbal agreement to me, but that is beside the point.

If the person was not willing to trade all of a sudden because of what you might be able to get for the pin in question, that is just down right mean and very un-pin friendly.

I would like the name sent to me, please.

Vicki

 poop on them. I always go with devine interevention. They may have thought you were kinda not that happy with the trade eveness (hard to tell with writing) and felt you didnt want the trade, even though thats not what you said. Honestly, between the first "pull out" and then this, perhaps this may have been nothin but aggrivation. On to the next great trade! chin up!

Yes, I will mose definitely PM you the members name, so this doesn't happen to you . I had two of The BT's tale pin , one for my collection and one for trade . Otherwise, I'd had said No , Thank You .

Debi, it seems like a fair trade to me. I am sorry you had this bad experience, but there are plenty of players out there

When my sales trade was active, I had people negotiate prices with me back and forth only to become a "no show" after we agreed on a sale. Not nice, but it happens.

I am the member in question, I hadn't agreed to the Stitch with Eeyore pin before an address was sent to me. I'm very sorry that you feel I was unfair but I hadn't agreed on that pin to trade and declined because I felt it was unfair, I appreciate I was the member who instigated the trade though.. I just wanted to say my end of the story.

No the true story is , when I said the Stitch/Dalmation pin was put back in her collection. She said others had contacted her, but Eeyore Stitch was fine And She Would Trade . The trade was to move forward . I then sent her my address and wrapped the pins and waited for her address . From what others have told me, I am the lucky one and was told to leave negative feedback, which I did .

Who in the heck is it??I wanna know..thats horrible pin trading..!!
She admitted above sweetie, but believe me, I have my PM's for proof that we were trading for that particular pin . I was told by many others , leave negative feedback to let other Traders Beware . I did so !
I've been here a long time, you know I'm as fair as it gets . Mr Ballonatic in Ireland never got his pins from me , when I go on the cruise I'm buying him two Sorcerer Mickey pins, to make up for the loss package . If thats not the right thing too do, I don't know what is ! All of you that wrote me, know me and know I tell the truth plus you yourselves have had bad experiences . As I said, I'm the lucky one !

Aaaaw, Debi ... I traded with you once and once you purchased a pin from me. Both times you were great & prompt.

Would you perhaps consider changing the fb to neutral? I would save negative fb for scrappers or for not receiving a pin at all after sending mine.

If the other trader never sent their address...I would not consider this a completed trade, I would say it was still in the "negotiation" stage. The trader may have been agreeable to the trade, but if no address was sent they never "committed" to anything.

If the other trader did send their address and then backed out, I would consider that bad trading etiquette.

In my opinion, neither of these scenarios deserve negative feedback.

In this situation...should feedback really be left at all? Neither trader sent pins, so what is there to leave feedback for?

If negotiations don't go smoothly and a trader backs out...is that grounds for any type of feedback?

Ive met sybil in person and she is such a very nice pin trader and wouldnt say this sounds like anything of bad ettiquette, some people have different views on how to trade etc, I agree with Becky if no address was given by the sybil then the trade was not finalised.

Ive had my fair of bad etiquette when someone got me pins then charged me extra once they saw prices on ebay even though I paid cost up front. to me thats bad etiquette lol

I still do not think this should have warrented in negative feedback though as Ive had some crap experiences and not left negative as when on a forum like this it can cause more harm than good as its like you wouldnt want to trade with someone who has negative feedback would you.

And I know her a little bit and she collect stitch as pins, Ive got some pins on my trades that Im in two minds about. and I think it might have come down to it is that she misunderstood your message when you said you could get the Beloved tales Beauty and the best pin. but thats just how it comes across to me. I personally wouldnt have left negative feedback and Id have just said Thats fine no worries, shame we couldnt agree on a trade. but thats just me.

I also do not consider a trade to be finalized until both people have recieved each others address' Since there was no trade made I think that you should remove your feedback.

Yeah, pretty much this. A trade falling through is not the same as someone backing out of a trade. I don't consider a trade finalized until I have an address and so do they, as well as a general feeling that we're both good with it and have an understanding.

I will change it to neutral then . From what others have PM'd me she has done this before . I have no reason to lie, I have my PM's to back up my story .
Tinker: I noticed you had Stitch as a Dalmation in your trades and put it back in your collection . I don't blame you its a vert cute pin and has a high want ratio . I was also interested in Stitch reading to Eeyore and ducklings . Would that one be a feasible trade ?
peterpanfan : A lot of members have asked about that Stitch Dalmation pin and I put it back in my collection . The Stitch reading to Eeyore is still open to trade, if you want that one .
Tinker : I don't blame you that Stitch as Dalmation is sweet . If we did trade I probably would have kept it too . I will trade you for the Stitch Eeyore pin and use it as a trader for one of my wants . I look forward to trading with you . I will package your pin .
My address is : ....... Send me yours as I will package your pin .
I copy & pasted this from my PMs , only deleting my address . Sounded like a confirmed trade to me .
But I will make the feedback neutral rather than negative .

I've had trades that abruptly ended when I thought the deal was done. I just add their name to my "bad traders" list and go on. Until I know for sure we have a deal and addresses (both of them) have been exchanged the deal is not complete. Is it rude - Yes. Is it bad pin etiquette - Yes. Was it a comfirmed deal - No. I think it would deserve neutral feedback with and short explanation. Negative is a bit harsh and I've never left anyone negative feedback, even on evilbay. Neutral says you aren't happy without totally ruining a person's reputation.
