Hello everyone, I am new this forum and I have recently started collecting the 17" dolls, they are all so beautiful and I love how large they are. During my shopping experience I noticed the snow white doll was the most expensive being sold on eBay for close to $1000. I guess I just wanted to know, why she is the most expensive of the bunch and if she is worth the money now. My goal is to get all the 17" dolls in the collection, but in order to get snow white I will have to sacrifice getting some, if not most, of the designer villains dolls. I will only be getting 2 dolls from that collection ( malificent & cruella) but I'm hoping I won't be disappointed when I get snow white since technically I have not seen her in person since she first came out, what a dummy I was for not getting her then! anyway .....thanks in advance to all those who help me out here.

Snow White is the most expensive, I think, because she was the first one released in the collection. Many people missed out on buying her, and like yourself, they now want to own her. Unfortunately this drives the price up like crazy. However it is possible to find her for cheaper (I just found one for $200 recently, so keep your eyes open and don't be afraid to message sellers!). Don't give up hope! I have only seen the side of the box of mine (my mother is holding them hostage until Christmas), so I cannot vouch for her beauty in person. But my best friend was allowed to watch as my mom took them out, and she said that Snow White is the most beautiful doll in the whole collection (I have almost all of them for her to compare to). Hope I helped! Good luck!

Welcome to DPF! I can attest that LE Snow White is the prettiest of the 17" LE dolls, but keep in mind that she is also my favorite princess, so there is a huge bias in her favor. That said, had Disney done a lousy job on her, I would not hold back on saying so.

From a design and craftsmanship view, she is the best of the collection to date. Her gown is based on her iconic dress, but with a twist, since it is a more fitted dress with an empire waist. The fabrics and the embellishing details are all most impressive (see DRJ1828's many photos of her in the Doll Appreciation thread). For example, the gold beading is all individually sewn on, compared to the iron-on gems that they have been using on their dolls ever since. Disney also used a new head sculpt for her instead of anything you will find among the 17" Singing dolls, and I think that she looks really elegant.

So is she worth $1000? Hands down, yes, if you really love Snow White. Personally, if I had to pick only one doll from the hundreds I have in my collection, she would be the one. It's really up to you what she is worth, however, and as ElysionsPrincess mentioned, if you luck out, you may be able to buy her for less from a place other than eBay.

I'm also a new member Bri and I have been collecting the 17" dolls from the beginning. I saw Snow White in stores for $100 when she first came out; this also included the Blu-ray/DVD combo pack, an exclusive lithograph and coupon for the Disney Store. I honestly cannot agree with others in saying she's worth $1000. I just don't see how someone would be willing to pay 100% more than the retail cost. She probably cost dollars, if not, cents to make so that's just foolish in my opinion. I remember thinking $100 was a bit pricey for her, but now I do regret not getting her. She is very beautiful and definitely one of the most impressive of the 17" LE Disney Doll Line, but I personally like Cinderella and Alice. They're both beautiful! There are also a few coming out relatively soon so who knows who will take that top spot.

Ultimately I think Snow White cost more because there is more demand. You have all the new collector's and classic, old-time, collector's who just want her simply because she was the first Disney princess and the first LE 17" Disney Doll released in this Line. It's almost like the Disney Designer Princess Snow White which caused havoc on the website when she came out, but I also think she's a little sloppy compared to the Designer Villains. The princesses seemed to be a concept put together quickly, but the designer villains are clearly more polished.

Welcome to the forum! <3

I can say that I am yet another person dying to have Snow on my 17" doll shelf.... she is SO stunning, having seen her in real life... I definitely can't afford such high prices like the asking prices on eBay, but we're all keeping an eye out for a 'bargain' I think she is in such high demand because she really is the most beautiful of all the dolls by MILES, and her dress and cape are all very beautifully embroidered, with some hand sewn beads on her cape, too.... $100 seems cheap for such a beautiful doll, in my opinion! Anyways, good luck finding her, and if you want to see some photos of her in all of her glory, you don't have to look very far The Doll Appreciation thread has some wonderful photos <3 Good luck! ^_^

I will own her someday but not anytime soon, right now I want to focus on the supposed new 17" dolls coming out in the near future, but I'm just hoping that the price for snow white doesn't go over the 1000 range, someone just posted a snow white doll on eBay for $3500!!!!.... As if anyone would really pay that much anyway, sorry but if she ever went that high, I don't think ANYONE who isnt a millionaire would buy her.

Yes, $3500 is definitely a ridiculous amount. That must be a person who really needs the money and is only reluctantly posting her on eBay. The more normal range is around $600, give or take a couple of hundred. However, people have bought her for $1000, as well. Patience can pay off. LE Snow White's price seems to have plateaued more or less at the current range. The real shocker is the LE Alice doll, who for months was being sold for $200-$300, but since spring suddenly is rivaling LE Snow White's prices at $600+. Of course, LE Alice only has an edition size of 500, so she is more rare worldwide. I have both, and I do have to say that I love LE Snow White a lot more.

Yeah Alice shocked me. No one was buyer her or the Queen of Hearts for weeks on the website, because of the Designer Princesses. And then all of the sudden, BAM she's $600+. I was quite upset that I decided not to purchase them.

I would *love* the LE Snow White doll! But she is waaaaay too pricey! And I like to debox all my dolls and I'd feel like it'd be a sin to debox her! But then again I feel it a sin to leave them untouched as well! Good thing I'll never be able to afford her anyways! Saves me the trouble of arguing with myself!

Haha if this was Facebook, I'd 'like' this post . I know exactly how you feel, on exactly the same - I am already having the inner debate with myself as to whether or not I'll debox Cindy, let alone Snow White when I get her (hopefully after.Christmas with all those extra Christmas work hours haha).
