My name is Cory, and I'm introducing myself while I have the nerve to.
I'm 23, and I found this forum while scouring the web for credible sites to identify some pins I've been searching for ( did you know how hard that is to do if you don't know where to look?)
Up until about five years ago I lived about 30 minutes outside of Anaheim Ca, so when my mother could save up the funds to, she would buy my small family year passes. You could say I grew up in the Disney Family ; )
A little less than ten years ago I got into pin collecting. At that time a new series came out that I now know is called the Cuties line. I saved up with my allowance, got a couple as a gift, and actually had the whole series! I was wicked proud. Of course if I'm looking for them now I must have lost them at some point right? They were stolen when I was asked to take them off for a ride and put them in a back pocket of the seat in front of me on the Thunder Mountain Railroad. I forgot them when I got off, and by the time I got back they were stolen.
I was crushed, and since my family didn't have money to renew our passes the next year, I never did have a chance to recollect them.
I fell out of pin collecting hard after that. It crushed me pretty bad because although the money was mine, I knew we were tight on cash and it felt like I just wasted my mother's money.
I'm back now and have been reading this site pretty regularly after I found it. I managed to find pinpics through this site, and through that was able to identify the pins I lost so long ago. I'm planning on setting up a small wishlist, but my main goal is to simply collect the pins I lost as a child.
More about myself:
- I am very autistic. I collect and love things very hard. It is why I got into pin collecting so hard as a child, and why I was so crushed when I lost them all. Though I mainly focused on the Cuties line, I did lose a lot of other pins that day and it felt my whole heart was gone.
- My new thing is Tsum Tsums! I know a lot about Tsum Tsums, but as I am an adult that has to make my own money now, I can not collect them as hard as I would like to. If I do collect any more pins outside the Cuties line, it will most likely be the Tsum Tsum lines though.
-I like talking to people, but I have huge social anxiety. If I drop off the face of an active convo, it's not because I hate anyone, but most likely I freaked myself out about something you might not have even noticed. I apologize.
-I would love some new friends to chat with about Disney Merch though! My Long Suffering Boyfriend I think is a little sick of it all x ) So please, feel free to introduce yourself or chat with me if you see me about on the boards!
