I commented on two threads last night; one in Pin Discussion and one in Auctions (just a comment, not placing a bid). Once I'd pressed post, I was told on both that they would appear after being approved by a moderator, which I assumed would happen within a few hours as I figure we all in various timezones and there must almost always be a mod online somewhere. It's now been way over 12 hours and neither of my comments have appeared, yet other comments have gone up in the same threads and the conversation is carrying on. I didn't think that there was anything wrong with my comments, I said nothing rude or inappropriate, I was just trying to join in some conversations, but I'm now worried that I made a mistake somehow and the comments were rejected.

Can anyone tell me what is likely to have happened? Am I just being impatient, or is it more likely that the comments weren't approved? I really hope I haven't done anything wrong by trying to comment, I'm quite new but I've been careful to read all the rules that I've seen and as far as I could tell, posting a comment just to join in a conversation seems to be okay. It's not the first time I've commented in threads, and I hadn't had a problem until now.

Any help is greatly appreciated. If it's perfectly normal then please let me know! Thanks :)
 
For me it took a few days before my comments started showing up at ones. The mods have a lot to do so Im sure your comments will show up, but it will take a while in the beginning. So dont worry, Im sure you did nothing wrong. :)

Hmm, fair enough. I just find it a bit confusing that when I first started commenting they would post straightaway, and now they're not. That's what made me wonder if there was something wrong with the comments.

Looks like you have been posting back to back to back,if thats it..that could mean you were spamming at one point!
I noticed you did NOT introduce yourself,just started posting in various forums!I suggest you go post your intro there on the Introductions thread!
and do you have a pinpics ID?
 
I didn't think I was commenting back-to-back, I only posted two comments in the whole evening. I certainly wasn't trying to spam :(

Sorry, I didn't know we HAD to introduce ourselves in the introductions thread... I didn't throw myself straight into commenting, I hung around reading posts and learning more about the forums first, as well as learning all about how things work from the person who first suggested I join. I just thought that joining in conversations here and there would be okay. I'm not great at introductions so I didn't much like the idea of posting a whole thread just to say hello. I feel it would be a bit odd to go back and do it now.

In answer to your question, I don't have a pinpics ID. I only own 2 pins (that I know are definitely genuine, anyway!) and don't have any traders yet so I thought I'd wait until I was ready to start trading before I opened a pinpics account.

no mine has been doing the same it says do i want to leave page, if i press cancell, it stays unposted if i press leave page its 50/50 chance that itl appear
 
That happened to me once yesterday too; I don't think it's got anything to do with being new. Strangely, it didn't appear, but when I hit the back button and tried to repost, then it said "this is a duplicate of a post you already made; taking you to that post now" and THEN it appeared.

I think there's a bug.

No you do not have to introduce yourself ,I was suggesting that to see if that could be the problem as you were posting elsewhere but I see other dpf members are having these probs too,I know when I do private messages I click send and it sits awhile ,I try again and it tells me I sent it and cannot do it anymore.so apparently there are bugs in the system,hopefully it will strengthen itself out soon.michelle,that's been doing that to me too.

It seems like I'm not the only one with the issue, but my comments still haven't actually appeared, I think it must have just glitched and they ended up not going through. Thanks for all the help and comments! You're all wonderful :)
