Between a rock and a hard place.
So, I haven't made a pin trade in about 7 months, and last week accepted a pin trade on pinpics, which I had a feeling I shouldn't have because the person was being quite pushy at the start, I went on with the trade though since I had already given them my address.
I said i'd mail my pin on wednesday, they sent theirs the day before that. I ended up having the pin sent on thursday morning- March 29th.

I was contacted by the other trader on April 5th about them not receiving my pin yet.

The person I entrusted to ship the pin did not get delivery confirm, and on top of that, we can't even find the receipt for mailing the pin!

So, now the person is kind of getting to be really pushy and I feel like it's 'their way or the highway' in this situation.
I don't believe asking them to wait a week or so, because maybe the P.O. will deliver it to them soon, since a couple of holidays did just pass by....idk...I need some advice on how to handle this though. I've never been in this type of situation.

Yes, I do realize it was a stupid idea to not get delivery confirmation, and I basically set myself up for this type of situation, I don't want to read in every post that It's all my fault and I should have just mailed it myself.

Oh and sorry if at least half of this was incoherent..
...if anyone has the daisy spain pin, I'd love to make a safer trade (with delivery confirm ofc)

A--i hope its not me (lotta trades and a vacation and easter in the past 10 days ) i dont think so.
B--is the person you mailed to in the US and are YOU? I find anything outside the Continental US can vary from a week to 8 weeks!!! either direction. No rhyme or reason. I also just did a trade with a wonderful and patient Torrianne on here and the Tampa postoffice had the pin for 3weeks?!?! again no rhyme or reason. So you are at about 11 days now with good friday in there.....
C--worse comes to worse you mail back the pin you received and of course will pay for that shipping,,,,but wait a bit more and communication is good to calm the other party....it will show up.

If you sent on March 29th..right?and they contacted you on April 5th also correct?Well you had the weekend as well...USPS is taking so long to deliver mail lately...especially in the USA
Did you get yours??YES a couple holidays did pass by...I think they need to give it more time here..I bet it will show up for them.Just wondering if you got yours though and what was the postmark on it
I am sure it will get straighten out.

Unless you have a replacement pin, I would just mail the pin back and take the loss with a lesson learned. Sorry. Pinpics states that you have to prove its sent but really it's not final until both parties get their pin. There is no he said she said. If it went to modetators, it all comes down to proof of mailing and you will have to mail the pin back or replace with an agreed pin.

Delivery confirmation is just a piece of mind and proof of getting it somewhere not exactly where you want it to go. I had a DC and it went somewhere else but the address it was ment to go. If you really wand proof, get a signature confirmation as I always do. Except overseas, that's a different story.

I received their pin right before they contacted me. I don't believe they put delivery confirm on theirs either, not that I remember anyways. I was so excited to get this pin I was like OMG *tears open envelope*

I wish I could tell them to wait, but I just have the biggest feeling that either they did in fact receive it and they just want their pin back, or the P.O. just screwed me over.

I called them out in an email about how 'hostile' they were being and they replied with a (for lack of a nicer term) sob story about how they lost a bunch of pins through USPS.

No, it's definitely not you Dawny :) Besides I am sure you'd be incredibly nice and not as 'scary' (well that's how I feel about the situation) as the trader is being towards me. I've never had a problem with you.

I do have the same pin, but from my personal collection. i can't find it though, and I'm not sure if I'd want to risk losing the same pin again. Even though I really do love that Daisy Spain pin :'(

sorry your stressed about this....i certainly hope they are being thruthful!!! if they are not i 100% believe in charma and see it everyday. Like i said you can use the story of my tampa PO, and ask that they give it more time. If they had so many bad USPS stories, i am surprised they didnt insist on DC or tracking, especially if they are HTF pins. You poor thing. frustrating i know.:(

Thank you for your kind words, Dawny :)
I agree with you on why they didn't insist on DC/tracking if they're soo emotionally scarred by USPS xD It's kind of, you know, common sense >_> Then again I should have left to the P.O. earlier on wednesday to mail the pin myself :\ All my fault :P

They should seriously wait. :| It's kinda rude IMO to expect a package RIGHT AWAY I actually had someone do this this week in another sales comm I sell at and opened a PAYPAL dispute over it @_@;;

...They ended up getting the item a day later -_-

I mailed a package from California to Florida on 4/2 with delivery confirmation and watched the package daily. It just arrived yesterday, 4/9. That has been the longest time frame I have ever had for first class mail. Usually it takes 2 days and 3 maximum. I guess the dire straits of the post office's financial woes is really catching up to the shippers. Sounds like no matter if you ask them to wait they are not very nice and potentially will never tell you the truth. I wish you the best of luck.

Yes, I agree with everyone else about telling them to wait. One time, even with Delivery Confirmation the mail man lost my packaged and it said DELIVERED and I never got it!! Even with Delivery confirmation packages can get lost.

And if they were "so emotionally scarred" like they said, how come they didn't send with a DC? Don't worry their pin is out there. Right now, I am waiting for a packaged that was sent to me since Thursday and it's coming from CA! :(

I can't fault you for not sending the package yourself or for not getting a delivery confirmation; sometimes I can't leave the house and my partner mails my pins, and she rarely if ever gets the delivery confirmation.

The mail has been sort of weird lately, taking forever or showing up in terrible condition. The other trader really will just have to wait it out, the pin will eventually make it to them, I'm sure. Patience is really the only logical solution in this case. If they get a bit pushy then they're taking a trade way too seriously.

Can you list the PinPics # of the pin you SENT to them? Maybe one of us has it for trade and can help you out without you having to return your Spain pin.

Just a thought!

If you scroll over 'my pin' and 'they sent theirs' you will see the pins in question :)

They sent me an email tonight saying that someone did something nice for them so they'll do something nice for me.

They said they won't file a complaint either.

I wonder if they saw this thread and got scared? IDK but I'm sure glad I got to keep the pin, I really love it :3 <3

I don't know a proper way to say thank you to the trader though, after the threats. Well....I feel I was threatened :\

Honestly they probably just had a major freak-out when their pin didn't arrive immediately, sent you scary e-mails, then I bet they finally got the pin you sent and were embarrassed to admit it so they sent you that message. Of course there is no way to know but that is my guess. ;)

Happy for both of you :)

it is my experience that most times there are problems w me getting a pin (late mailing or forgetting to mail), it is when someone trusted SOMEONE ELSE to mail the pin...this is why I ALWAYS "do it myself"....just MHO...for future trades
