OK, this is unusual, so I need some help deciding what to do. I have sent a PM to the person concerning this issue, as I just discovered it, but I was wondering what others might do

On 6/20/12, I made a purchase here for 2 pins. I paid that day via PayPal with shipping and extra to cover the fees. I provided them with my address and was told they would ship ASAP

Since they were coming from outside the US, I figured they should be arriving any day now due to the holiday, etc, but I was greatly surprised when I logged into PayPal this evening (I do not check there often) and noticed that the transaction was "refunded" on 7/2/12 - 12 DAYS LATER. I put refunded in quotes as it is pending until the 9th due to it being a bank transfer. Now, I have received NO PMs or e-mails from the seller about this, either about the pins not shipping, or the refund, or anything.

Does the lack of communication from the seller warrant feedback? The person has been active here over the last couple of days since the refund so I do not know why I was just not sent a PM.

Was there a note with PayPal as to why it was refunded? I know I have had to refund at least one payment, due to not being able to find the item (this was a half.com transaction and I wish they would go back to allowing sellers to confirm sales rather than simply accepting it and then me trying to find the item).

But, I did send a note along with the refund (via half.com). Since it was here, I would have sent a PM myself. But that's just me.

Nothing. I checked PayPal's receipt log, plus did a search in the GMail account for the person's e-mail I sent it to in case they sent me an e-mail there. But all previous communication on the 19th and 20th of June was done here via PM

Hhhmmm... Well, if you don't find a message in your refund, I guess at this point you just have to wait to hear back. I would follow up with another message after 48 hours if you don't hear back. I hope the person is okay.

OK, the person has been on the board a few times since I have sent them the PM with no response. What should I do?

At this point, without a response, but having received a refund, I would just let it go. Life's too short!

If you got a refund. I mean, I would just let it go. I mean, it sucks that they are not communicating with you but they did give back the money. I now there are times my computer is on and I may be on here and not be actually on the computer. :/ So I don't know on that one, but I would probably not leave negative feedback because it can really hurt the person for future trades and sales. I know it sucks to not have communication but I would just let it go and not buy or trade with them again.

I think the person should have sent you notification. I would at the least make a mental note and not send this person cash for anything again. Something like this would make me feel like I was used as a source of extra funding for their own agenda. Without a message there is nothing that would make me feel differently. I would like to know who it is so that I know not to send them anything as well. It only takes a second to write someone a note and let them know why the money was refunded.

I would suggest neutral feedback.

Money refunded/Poor communication

That will ensure everyone will understand what they are getting into.

The person has contacted me and apologized. They said they had a note in the PayPal transaction, but nothing is appearing, so maybe it won't show until the transaction is complete. It seems it was miscommunication, nothing more.

Just saw this post - confessing: It was me, guys. It was completely my fault (I lost track of what I had sold and what I had) I sent the refund with a note via the paypal app.
Today is the first time I've been on here on a computer - I've been sick with food poisoning so I've only been on here with my phone to bump my wanted thread.
I'm very sorry and I feel terrible, I'm hoping that I can find a way to make it up to Bill and I understand if anyone else wants to avoid buying from me. I don't trust myself to sell anymore anyway, after this mix-up.
Sorry again :(

Now that this has been sorted out, I would still buy from them. Miscommunication happens, and I am sure PayPal failing to include any note attached did not help the situation any. And as I said in my PM to them just now

I am not looking for anything extra out of this (I do appreciate the offer though), as I completely understand things do happen, it was just the lack of communication and no idea what was happening, as I rarely log into PayPal or the e-mail address associated with it and I did yesterday to check on a payment someone was sending me, and I noticed the refund for the first time.
