Hello,

I just wanted to say hello to my fellow pin lovers. I just got back last Thursday from my first trip to Disney World as an adult and absolutely fell in loves with the pins! Fortunately for my wallet it really wasn't until the last night so I wasn't able to buy that many. I have spent a ton of time on pinpics.com, ebay, and random other websites educating myself about pins. Then I found this forum which seems to be the holy grail of communities. That being said, I am a bit disheartened to learn that some of the trades I made with cast members are probably scappers. The good news is that I am learning about the negative of this hobby before I did too much damage on eBay and trading!

TI think my collection is going to ceneter around Monsters Inc. for sure as well as perhaps the below:

1. Enchanted Tiki Room (we went to it without any idea of what it was going to be and had a good time laughing at how silly it was)
2. Ursula
3. Expedition Everest / Yeti
4. Parade series
5. Who knows what else as I continue to dive deeper into this!

One question I do have for everyone is how do you all obtain LE pins when you don't live near a park? Do you only buy these on your trips or are there alternative ways to procuring them?

Looking forward to sharing this new obsession with you all!

Best,

I wouldn't worry too much about the strange triple-post-phenomenon. I'm sure if it bothers a moderator enough they will just delete the extra posts or merge the threads somehow. I do wonder how it happened though? Looks like each post was done hours after the last one! Strange!

Anyway, welcome to DPF!

And as for your question: I've gotten a lot of my LEs from pre-sales on the forum (paying people who live nearby the stores to pick me up a pin that I want), as well as off eBay, but eBay can be dangerous so it's best to really research a pin for scrapper warnings before buying off there, as I'm sure you know!

I wish you luck on your collections!

:)

Hi, welcome to DPF! :- )

As it's been mentioned, there are a lot of lovely people here who will pre-sell LE releases and collect them on your behalf! Many of them just charge the cost plus shipping and take no profit on it, helping you to advance your collections. Sean (Speezard) does a post every single month on the Pins For Sale/Wanted board which I highly recommend visiting if you would like a chance at some LE pins or even just open editions that you can't get as you're not nearby! But lots of others do presales too, his are just the most frequent!

Any questions just ask :- )

Thank you everyone and thanks for the recommendations of the presales you can see on the FOR SALE/WANTED forum. I will definitely be on the lookout for that and love that it seems like most people do this at cost and not as a means to make money.

Makes me feel super welcome here and excited to get the chance to own some LE pins!!!!
