It really, really bums me out that you *basically* can't get disney pins online through the Disney site... they release so many amazing pins and just about every time one is released, if you don't live close enough to actually go get it, the only way to get it is to pay at least $10-$15 more for it than what was originally paid...

Now, I understand that people take time from their days to stand in line and wait and all that to get these little metal pieces of happiness, but mannnn is it frustrating to live no where near a park and *almost* never have a chance of paying the same price as someone who stood in line... I know I'm not the only one feeling this.

It just gets super frustrating.... nothing can really be done about it... and to be honest most of this is brought on by people asking for $50+ for the new mystery pins released at WDW today who justify it by saying they had to hop around to all the parks to get as many as they could because there is a limit of 2 per person... (Don't even get me started on my issues with that whole situation hahaha)

Anyway, that's my silly little frustration rant... boo hoo the world isn't fair haha

Aaaannnnddd... I'm done.

I completely understand the frustration. I really wish that Disney would reopen the Disney Auctions site and sell more pins on the Disney store website like they used to. At least then some of us not close to the parks would have a shot.

Me too ^_^!
On that note, were you successful in getting the UP DSUK Pin this morning? As I might *fingers crossed that they don't cancel my order* have an extra

Yes, I think I am covered on this morning DSUK UP! pin. A certain DPF member here has reached out to me about the Anniversary pin already, thank you much for the offer! Fingers crossed that they get it.

Maybe we need to mass email Disneystore Online and ask for them to start releasing new LE pins on a regular (Weekly) basis. It makes it more fair for people that don't live in places where they have access to LE pins. Plus, they could be making all that extra money. lol - who is in charge over there?!

I'm on board with that. They'd be making so much more money, and I can only assume thats their end game anyway, right??

I am probably wrong, but I heard the initial reason why DS.com stopped releasing good LE pins on a monthly basis was because pin traders complained so much and became verbally abusive to the cast members (which I can see happening). That's what I heard happened before I even started pin trading and I'm not by any parks, but the sad part is, you see it even on every DS.com thread.

When the Mali set was released, last night with the Up pin, you can see a lot of anger in all the threads because people are not happy that they didn't get a pin. Even if it was limited to 1pp, the people who didn't get it would still be mad (I'm not blaming them). This results in DS.com getting an angry phone call and that's something they don't want to deal with. DS.com is going to get the money one way or the other, but by only doing park releases they can decrease thousands of phone calls from angry people per month just for pins. I'm all for DS.com releasing new pins again, but you know that if they did, they'd get angry calls from people who never had a shot at the pin anyways.

Pretty much everything in the pin world has been contracting for years rather than expanding - there are less events, less PTNs, less places to trade, less places to buy pins, less pins being released. It is what it is and I don't think any feedback will change things as pins are an older line of business for the company at this point.

I'm still surprised no one has mentioned that Westward Ho coincidentally closed for refurbishment right after the new smaller pin store opened on Main St. Will the merchandise change now at Westward Ho? Who knows? But it seems possible from the timely closure.

ETA: And this was after the change at LGM from mostly pin merchandise, to now mostly Toy Story merchandise. And has anyone else noticed that vinylmations have been disappearing from several stores in the park too?

I saw that this past weekend and was hoping it was just to refresh the area. They do still have a small pin cart outside WH so that's my hope.

I remember LGM as primarily pins, but the little aliens are so cute!

I agree with you. Seeing the Maleficent boxed set on eBay for crazy amounts is awful.
I paid 170 for my Elsa and that blew my pin budget for a month.

That's probably the best way to describe it that I've seen... so sad
