pin backer cards what do you do?

So I was wondering when you put pins on you cork bords or in your books do you keep them on the card or do you take them off? and why? Also do you choose cork boards,books ,or lanyards an why? I really want to display my pins but i'm not sure how. Thanks! :hsd:

Sometimes what I will do is keep the backers with the pins. Like if the backer card goes with the pin not just says Pin Trading in the ears. But usually I will just stack them up

I use binders and baseball card pages. It does take up more space, but I can leave the pins on their cards.

I have all my collection on corkboards, and my traders in a pin bag. I keep all the backings in a little compartment in the pin bag

I keep the card to all my GOOD keepers, and I have them in a 3-ring binder. Other keepers that aren't so great (like a lot of rack pins) I put in a pin bag, and then I use the backer card when I ship out a trade through pin pics to add some stability.

I keep mine separate from my pin bag - in a large ziploc bag. They are each individually labeled with the pin that they came off of so in case the going gets tough and I need to sell, I have the backer cards.

I made the mistake of throwing all my backer cards away. I am starting to save them with the pins I purchase now, I put them in zipper part of pin bag. Sure wish I had kept all my earlier ones.

Yeh, i admit i take my pins off cards and display them in homemade pin books. I keep all the cards and use for trading, but they dont "match" the pin. On occasion this has led a trade to fall through because the person will not trade unless pin is on original card....bummer but that is too much for me. Most pins i get are for my collection. One day when i am old, dead or whatnot, whomever gets or sells my pins can deal with the aftermath!:lol:

I keep them all in boxes tucked away or if there pretty ones then I keep the pin on the card in my pin book

This is exactly what I do.

But, my husband puts his pins in his pin trading bags. He take some of them off the card but puts the cards in the little zippered pocket next to the page the pin is on. He is also putting pins on his Disney pics. For these pins, I am making little labels for him to put on the pin backers with pinpics id numbers so it is easier to match them later if he chooses. He can just look up the number and match the card to the pin in the picture.

For all my Haunted Mansion pins, I like to keep them all on their original cards and leave them in pin bags that way. I also have a hanging spoon rack case from Michael's art supply that I have some mansion pins displayed in too. I just easily removed the spoon racks and viola! I have some pins standing up in a display case and the backer cards make a great standing display for them! My Pirate pins I have displayed on a fishing net hanging in my Pirate themed kitchen. I have a few on cards and most not on their cards to allow more room on the net. I keep the cards in a drawer. All my Alice pins are on their original cards. They are all displayed laying on a shelf in my bedroom.

When I receive my pins before I do anything else with them, I take photos of them and scan them along with whatever card/box they came on/in. If the pin is a trader then I put them back on their card (or in their box) and put them in my trading bag. If they are a keeper then I put the card/box in one of two small boxes that I keep in a bigger tote bag. If I ever need to sell or trade any of my keepers I use the photos I took to match them up with the right card. Also to make things easier for me I rename the photo files to the Pin Pins number.

I do a mix of both, if I am displaying on my cork board I use a price label attached with string to the slot they hang on the display. I put the pinpics number on this just in case I sell later. I have trader card pages that I store some traders in and those that dont have cards I plastic boards. It all depends really on the pin and whether I intend to keep it for my own collection or trade.

For my "Keepers" until I can complete a set and frame it, I use binders with baseball card sheets. I keep the backer cards if possible in those to 1~give the sheet more stability. 2~ make the pins more visible. Sometimes that means useing a generic card.

In my trade book, I keep backing cards if I have them because it shows prospective traders that the pin is authentic. If I don't have the card, I don't "add" one anyway.. to me that is mis-representaion.

If I am trading online, say pinpics. I like to put pins on generic backing cards for shipment. Looks nicer and ships a bit better if theres a solid card in the package.

I have a bocks where I keep all cards / backer things unless they are posh / pretty backers or special backers. Like I have a few lady and the tramp pins with posters / nice backing cards that I display with the pins.

I display most of my pins on cork boards but I also make up special frames for some pins. I sort my pins in to groups so they have the same themes close to one another.

I have a book that I keep all of my traders in and I also have a binder that I keep my traders with cards in, using 'trading card' clear folders.

If the pins are in a frame, I attach a Ziploc storage bag tothe back of the frame/board and the cards go in it. I also take a pic of thepin on the card, front and back so it can be reattached if I need to for somereason. Others go into binders using the sport cards sheets.
